Request for More Entertaining Stories.

A few of my readers had asked me to relate more entertaining stories rather than the ones, I am currently embarking on. Violence related stories are not their cup of tea, they wrote to me. So, I have decided to accede to their requests, at least for now.Below is one of stories I am able to recall right now and I would like to relate it.
The voice of the captain, over the PA, brought gloom to the cabin. He announced there was some problem he was having with the aircraft nose wheels. They couldn't be extended for the landing at Singapore Paya Lebar Airport.Control tower was informed and emergency procedures were reviewed for the oncoming crash landing.
When one looked out of the aircraft windows, one was able to see the thick foam spread over the runway,as though waiting patiently to embrace the Boeing 707.
There was a bit of panic in the cabin as the B707 was dumping its fuel to lighten the load for the crash landing.
Suddenly, in the economy class cabin, an electrifying scream of a lady, pierced through the eerie silence of the graveyard-liked cabin. It was the scream of an uncontrollable stewardess, Irene, who was overwhelmed with fear and panic.
The crew tried consoling her but she was hysterical. This had somewhat caused more panic amongst the already frightened passengers.
The senior steward Roland, went up to Irene and in the presence of the passengers in the cabin, slapped her with a force that could have dislodge the nose wheels, shut her up instantly. Moments later,Irene fainted and remained silent for the rest of the ordeal.
Captain Gurum was an ace pilot in his early thirties. He was calm and a brave man. The co-pilot was Peter Menon. I cannot recall the expatriate flight engineer's name but he was less competent than the 2 pilots. He couldn't crank the nose wheels down and was visibly nervous.
After dumping almost all of 707's fuel, Capt. Gurum informed control that he
would nosedived the 707 and then jack it up into the sky with the speed of lightning and let gravity performed it task.
After obtaining clearance from control tower, Captain Gurum and his crew executed the plan. In less than 20 seconds(I may be incorrect here as to the timing), the Boeing 707 enxtended its stubborn wheels.
There was relief all round. Passengers and crew applauded loudly even before Captain Gurum came on the PA.
In the next couple of minutes, the plane landed safely much to the relief of everybody, including Irene. This incidence happened in 1969.
About 30 years later,Captain Gurum passed away after a long illness.
Senior first officer Peter Menon and Roland have since retired. As for Irene, no one knows of her whereabouts.

Once when flying back from Melbourne, the pilot (apparently an Indian from his accent) announced that he was going to land in Spore on auto-pilot and so if the landing was rough, do not blame him.

I thought that was funny.
