The late Sultan of Brunei,Sir Omar Ali Saifuddin III, chartered a Boeing 747 and with our crew flew to London for medical treatment some years back.It is not uncommon for the royal family to charter the whole aircraft for themselves.
He was so glad with the care our crew gave him that he invited all of them to stay at his palace for a few nights. About the story of him presenting the crew with a Rolex watch each could not be confirmed.His eldest son, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah , is in charge since 1967 and would soon be handing over his power to his son in the next few years.
We hardly meet the current Sultan on the flight because he flies and travels in his own jets.
The Sultan's relatives fly a lot with SIA and it is always a great pleasure to serve them.
The Palace staff usually fly business class.These people are one of the most exemplary passengers we ever served.
I, once asked a staff, why was it they were so pleasant,friendly and humble. The reply was the Sultan would be upset if anyone,the cabin crew included,should complained about their behavior.
The cabin crew of Singapore Airlines salute them and the members of the royal family from the oil riched kingdom of Brunei for being so very humble and kind to us all.
It has and will always be an honour to serve them.

I hv the chance to serve them on a few occasions they r really humble gracious n polite nvr wanting to trouble the crew. Nt like nw sm PPS paxs r really cheapskates vry demanding n arrogant think the crew owe them a living.
Nothing beat old money rather than most of the kuching kurap (cheapo) pax paid by the their company to travel as FC or JCL and buid up their points to become personally a PPS(Pirioty Piece of Shits). They are worse of the lots and a bunch of bullies who are so uncivilise and unculture creatures!
I agree 100% with you all and besides the royal children aren't like some spoilt brat singaporean kids on the flts.
Royal kids travelled FC and got Chinese Amahs looking after them and don't spoil them at all...thats my observation cos i served them b4.

The worse behaved r the staff n family memebers who travel first class foc but yaya papaya esp the tech crews families sm of their wives r bitches so demanding but cheapskates.
yah i personally encounter exp with them. they are insecure bitches cos thier hubbies are pilots. tat is y they reacted tat way. forgive them...;-)
I mean Chinese nannies ( 1 for 1 child) and they travel FC.
Fillipa nannies travel JCL.

Oh yes...I had my fare share of serving the royalties...not only the Brunei royalties but also the Malaysian royalties eg the Sultan of Trengganu who happens to be the new Agong...crown prince of Pahang and Johore too. Then there was the crown prince of Norway and his wife...I had also served Presidents and Prime Ministers eg LKY twice when he was PM..Goh Chok Tong and our previous Presidents as well...yes they all have ettiquet and well mannered. Real pleasure to served them...
However...we mmust not forget that our bread and butter actually comes from the very irratetating,demanding and uncouth paxs...all these comes in a package. I had my share of abuses from these paxs as well...but as I said they are the ones that pays of salary at the end of the month and dont forget the 4 or 5 month bonuses !! well...this is part and parcel of the job like ours...take all these like a pinch of salt and learn from the experiences and we will be a better wiser human beings...CHEERS...
