The stop in Vegas was 3 days and we flew from in from HKG. The sectors were SIN/HKG/LAS vv using the B777.
The hotel which the cabin crew stay was mmmmmm....I can't remember cos it was a unfashionable hotel away from the Las Vegas Strip. The reason the crew was accommodated away from the Strip was to discourage the crew from gambling. Had it been MGM Grand or the Venetian or the Belagio,it would be too convenient for the crew to gamble at the downstairs ground floor casino. This reason was crap cos no matter how far the gambling crew were accommodated, they would still take the shuttle bus to Downtown or the Strip to gamble.
Ah, no point bitching about the accommdation cos it's over and SQ does not fly to Vegas anymore.
The Venetian,The Alladdin,Belagio etc were classic hotels and I think the rooms would have cost a "bomb",perhaps the average of US$400 a night in the standard room.
Although Vegas was an exciting place to be at,the cost could be damaging if one were to gamble. No way could one make money in the long run if one were to gamble at the casinos.
My crew were mostly non gamblers and so we went to see "shows" and dined in the beautiful resturaunts in hotels like New York2, MGM grand etc.
After my trip to Vegas, SIA stopped flying there.
