Baby that Died on 17 June 2008 in flight 9W 229 (Jet Airways Brussels-Delhi) while landing in IGI Airport Delhi

Not many knew this, the one in charge of the safety training and a chief trainer himself was an ex inflight supervisor from SIA who is unqualified in this area. He was recruited by the team of jet airways interviewers in Singapore a few years ago when he went for his inflight supervisor position in jet airways. He was declared short in his height but because the interviewer who was his ex batchmate in MSA "pull string" him in as a safety trainer. He himself was pleasantly surprised.

The above was a comment left by someone at this blog whereby an infant died on an international carrier. The parents of the dead baby asked visitor to their blog to sign a petition to press the govt of India to investigate the cause or causes of the baby's death on Jet Airways Flight 229 ( Brussels – Delhi ), 17th June 2008.
The parents of the baby questioned the efficiency of Jet Airways cabin crew in dealing with the situation and other safety aspects of the airlines.

I do not want to comment about the case except that I sympathise with the baby's parents who must be terribly sad and at the same time angry with the said airline.

After reading through the complaints by the parents, there is actually no reason to fault Jet Airways. The baby choked on drinking the mother's milk. Things like this do happen and there is really no one to blame. Even a doctor who was on board could not do much - or rather he cannot, except by giving cpr which he obviously didn't. No injection can help ( I am a doctor), so the complaint that there was no injection on board is not valid. The loss of an infant is always heartbreaking and I sympathize with the parents but they should not in their anger lay blame where there is none.

Please do not blame anyone except the parents. Parents should know how to take care of their own infant. Accidents do happen. However it's so clear cut that the parents are just out to get some compensation from the airline. Pathetic and cheapo!May the infant rest in peace.

Hello doctor don't you think it's natural for the parents to point the finger at someone? The cabin crew couldn't help in a simple case of choking?
