Pineapple Huat
Pinapple Huat was my former colleague who left SQ about a year before me.
He took the "early retirement" scheme on his own accord whereas the rest of us was given the "Hobson's choice" or in other words "take it or leave it" type of choice.
Pineapple was under a lot of pressure to leave. He could not stomach the behaviour and attitude of the younger crew. He believed in Confucian ethics in which the young must give respects to the older or senior people like him.
He was brought up that way,he often told us and so his training of the crew would always begin with emphasis on strict discipline, respect for the seniors, proper salutation and in a way to "suck up" to whoever was senior.
Any crew who went against his teachings were branded by him to be unworthy cabin crew.
If any junior crew were to meet him whether in uniform or otherwise, that crew must extend the proper salutation with eye contact too. If not, he would report the crew to the office and get him or her into trouble.
There were instances where Pineapple was so furious (because the crew did not greet him)that he grabbed the collars of male crew and shooked them. "Do you know who I am ?" was the infamous quotes he would used. These actions left many traumatised.
I am sure many who loved Pineapple for his principle were disappointed when he left SIA. However, there were others who won't miss him.
As a colleague, Pineapple would not dare to apply the same principle because we could easily told him to "F*** spider". But then he would be friendly if we sort of showed respect and reverence towards him.
However, did Pineapple apply the same principle towards his seniors eg managers, svps etc?

More pages viewed on weekdays
I notice there is a trend of visitors to my blog. More would come on weekdays than weekends or public holidays. Take for example, on a Sunday I would have about 1,000 hits as compared to a weekday which is around 1,500 to 1,800.
Reasons? Well,I don't really know.Could it be people come here through their office computers. Perhaps they are bored with their daily chores in the office and one way to make life more interesting is to visit and read my stories.
How about weekends or during the public holidays? Lesser visits may be due to people having more interesting things to do.

Any comments from you people out there?

Chee Koh Peh is his name!
This stewardess said in her blog that her senior steward is a skirt chaser or in Chinese "chee koh peh"
Greg my ex colleague,a henpecked hushand
His wife was a fierce woman,a school teacher by profession. He was an ex colleague of mine, a hen-pecked husband. His wife's name was "Ann" and his was "Greg".
Greg was the sort of man who would submit to his bitchy wife for the slightest thing. She would abused and made fun of him in the presence of the crew and did not feel bad about it. Greg on the other hand would accept Ann's "rubbish" and smiled them off. To him nothing Ann did nor say would ever hurt his ego.
He was a man to begin with,he always told us. He told us the best way to get back at such a wife was to fuck around behind her back. And fucked around Greg did, for almost 40 years of his life as a cabin crew. The best thing he told us was,Ann never knew anything about his love affairs with stewardesses and female passengers.
The last girl friend he had before his retirement was his trainee,a foreigner. Their love affair went on for almost 8 years before she left the airline.
He screwed so many female passengers and stewardesses and yet got away with it. Or was it?......Perhaps as many of us thought, Ann all along knew about her husband's flings with other girls but because he was such a "good" boy to her she chose to close both of her eyes. Another theory was Ann was frigid and didn't like sex or she was a lesbian. We suspected the latter.

SIA reducing 11% flights and let going....
It has come to a point when SIA cannot tahan anymore but to cut flights that are unprofitable and asked some of its staff to go. Yes,it's early retirement time just like we buggers who were persuaded to leave during the SARS period of 2003. Don't want to go gracefully?? Then sure kena retrench one.
As a share holder I think SIA is heading in the right direction. Cut pay, take no pay leave and early retirement are very good options. Better still follow DBS style la i.e. retrench the dead woods both in the graded and admin staff esp. the good for nutting managers, vps etc. and pls don't forget the grumpy lazy gaji buta former unionist IFSs....right or not jr. cabin crew??
Many honest hardworking crew will support me in advocating the above. So lets hear what they have to say in the polls on the right hand side bar ok?

Union object to cabin crew being randomly checked.
Below is an extract from Alan Tan,Chairman of Cabin Crew Division SIASU. The union is unhappy over the manner in which the cabin crew has been randomly spot checked for ......
Spot-Checks on Cabin Crew.
We recently had another spate of spot-checks done on a few sets of Cabin Crew into Singapore by SATS police as arranged by Cabin Crew management.
SIASU has expressed its unhappiness and disappointment with management as to why such random spot-checks target only the Cabin Crew and not on any other staff who are also in the aircraft in the course of their work.
Cabin Crew Management claims that the spot checks are done when tip offs are given and, to avoid accusing any crew individually, the whole set is then searched. Further as they are unable to ascertain from which exit the targeted crew would depart, spot-checks are conducted at different exits and on the crew who happen to arrive at that time frame.
This indiscriminate, expansive method of subjecting the faultless majority of cabin crew to such searches is UNACCEPTABLE.
Read here for more from the union chief.

Most are crew
I know la most of you who come here are crew. Come here to condemn me for what? I blog the truth and it hurts ya? Now these young punks called me "outdated","dinosaur" and the likes. Some called us,ex-cces (cabin crew executives)"useless" "redundant" etc and SIA sacked us because we were "parasites" bla, bla.
When we were on the "throne" (meaning when we were with SQ as cces)these punks would lick our asses to get favour. Some would just loved to be in our presence hoping to get promoted or be favoured. They would insist on buying us meals, drinks etc to get recommendation on their promotion or contract extension prospects to work for another 5 to 10 yrs or be cleared of bad records in their personal files etc. Some would not mind sleeping with us just to get the above even though some of us weren't that "handsome" or "suitable" or "up to their height" ( we got shorties too as cces). Of course, a few of my colleagues took advantage of these young punks.....*sigh*....people like me didn't seize the opportunity.
Today after we have left SIA and without any of the power we used to have, they called us names of all sorts. I bet those who came to criticise were the ones who had been f***** by my ex-colleagues and are now regretting like shit! Hello it's your fault ah so don't blame us!!!
To see how they made themselves beautiful here.

He is worst off without SQ..pt 2
The flight landed at Bangkok Don Muang International Airport in the late evening. The crew would night stop for a day at Bangkok,Thailand.
After the passengers had disembarked,Fatty the ifs (inflight supervisor)waited until the last cabin crew left the aircraft before he too left the aircraft and headed for the arrival area. It was a long walk to the arrival terminal and custom area.
About 2 months before Fatty's flight,SIA cabin crew management had a meeting with the security department and enlist their help to nap Fatty whom they suspected of stealing duty free liquor and Dom Perignon Champange. SIA cc had inside information that Fatty had stolen hundreds of bottles of liquor and sold them to his pub connection in Bangkok. Off course, this was illegal and any crew caught stealing liquor or any company stuff would be sacked instantly.
That night in BKK (Bangkok)2 plainclothes security men from S'pore had stationed themselves just after the custom clearance area, waiting for Fatty. They flew into BKK a day before Fatty's flight.
Jon the chief steward (2nd highest ranking cc)was the first to arrive at the custom check area. The Thai custom officers cleared him and let him through without a search. However, immediately after the custom area at the arrival hall, the 2 security men came up to Jon and flashed their i/ds and searched Jon's hand carried luggage. In it,they found a few bottles of SIA's Dom Perignon,Black Label Whisky and Brandy. They arrested Jon but before that Jon created such a big commotion that Fatty from distance(before custom check)noticed and knew that there was something cooking.Fatty hurriedly went to the toilet and off-loaded his bottles of liquors into the large waste bins. He then cleared custom and the 2 security men approached him. They did not find any stolen things in his bags.
Just to enlighten you, these crew made hundreds by selling the stolen liquor in BKK and other places. If you may recall, an ifs was caught stealing Dom,caviar and other duty free items into London last year.He was repatriated to S'pore and fined $2,000 in a S'pore court last year.
Stealing liquor from the airlines by crew is not an uncommon thing. It happens to many airlines, not just SQ. Some stole to sell and make a profit while others drank or gave them to their friends. There is nothing much the airlines could do except to discourage the cc from stealing by firing them if caught.
In the above case,Fatty was the target but Jon who helped carried the contra bands for Fatty was made to pay. Jon was a nice and obliging colleague whom Fatty made use of.
Fatty was always lucky to avoid being caught red handed. There was nothing SIA security people could do to Fatty. He retired "gracefully" at the age of 55. They even awarded him a handsome retirement gratuity. Today,Fatty drives a taxi and who knows what other illegal things he is doing?

They drive prestigious cars like these.
