AsiaOne...27 May 2008

For those who have missed this a year and half ago this may of interest. Those who have read this before please shut your mouth and stop whining...hehehe.

Garnering more than a million hits since its first post in August 2006, popular blog SIA Cabin Crew Stories is not the only online source for Netizens to read about the glamorous, the scandalous and the ugly of life as a member of the flight crew with Singapore's national carrier. In the last few months, a handful of other such 'stewardess blogs' have started appearing in the blogosphere, much to the delight of curious readers. What's more, most of these cabin crew bloggers are not shy at all when it comes to dishing out the details.

Fixed up by his lover

Supervisor Tim was a gentle soft spoken man. He was quiet and modest in his own way but could be strict with his subordinates. Many stewardesses liked working with Tim for he was helpful and fair in his distribution of work duties.
Bella was a relatively new stewardess whom Tim flew with quite regularly. Bella not only liked working with Tim but had secretly fell in love with him. It's not a bad idea to have a fling with a supervisor (IFS) because one could be favoured on the flight.
One day,Tim refused to assign Bella to work in a position that she wanted."It wouldn't be fair to the other stewardesses..." Tim told Bella but she insisted on working in that zone because the passenger load was light. " I can't put you there because it's not your turn yet" Tim reminded her. "F..you man why can't you do it for me..can't you see I am your girl friend?"
At this point Tim regretted for falling for Bella. He now realised Bella was making use of his position to gain favour.
A few weeks passed, Tim was summoned to the office to explain a complaint about molestation of a stewardess. It was Bella who had complained that Tim had molested her on a flight. Tim was in great trouble and if proven correct,he could be sacked from his job.
Meanwhile the news of Tim molesting Bella spread like wild fire. Many in cabin crew disbelieved Bella's story.
A disciplinary panel was set up to hear the charge. The day came and witnesses were called to give their testimonies whether Tim did or did not molest Bella.
I received this email from an ex stewardess who was a key witness in Tim's case. She has lost contact with Tim but still shows concern for Tim.

Dear Boh Tong,

.... he was my IFS! Infact he was one of the best IFS i worked with.

THE TEAM DRAMA:

Tim was accused by one of the team's FSS (can't even remember her name) for molesting her (I AM PRETTY SURE THAT WAS THE ACCUSATION ..MIND YOU IN HAS BEEN MANY YEARS)... both me and another FSS was called in as witnesses by the union for the hearing.. I was of course all for Tim as there were to many loopholes in her story and plus on more than one occasion when he was accused of being with her, he was with the FS and myself ...

That's all ... i just wanted to know if he is ok and what happened after...

You are right Boh Tong he was a nice man, on the ball , but a very very very very nice man!

I will give you an update of mylife after SQ in another email ... and you are right there is a life after SQ!

Regards,

RXXXX

The case was thrown out because the company believed that Tim did not molest Bella.

He did something that sucks!

As promised I will also tell about my ex colleagues' misdeeds here.
There was one ex trainer who failed a girl during her exam. Unlike the"American/S'pore Idols" judges a trainer has the unwritten privilege of more than 1 vote to save a trainee if she fails her exams. It's all up to the trainer but he chose not to save her.
This particular girl complained to the training manager and alledged he was biased and had saved other girls who had failed their exams. She also alleged the trainer loved to tell dirty jokes in the class.
The manager investigated and found from the other girls that the above allegation was true. In fact, it was discovered he even went to the extent of touching the girls. The girls hated listening to the dirty jokes and the touching but were afraid to offend their trainer.
After the investigation was completed, the trainer was let off with a warning letter. This action worked up the other colleagues and some of them appealed to the manager to withdraw that warning letter. They claimed the accusation was false and instead the girl should be punished.
The manager stood her ground and the other fellow trainers were furious. They had lost a lot of "faces".The whole episode was wrapped under the trainers' codes of secrecy and resulted in only few people knowing about the incidence.

BT: I expect more anti-me comments after this post and so be it cos I was telling the truth!
My pledge is: I swear to tell the truth nutting but the truth so satan's kids please piss off!....hahaha.

Most CC does not like me but why?

They dislike me cos I exposed their disgusting and at times offensive behaviour. They also do not like me cos they think I am taking the cabin crew management's side on matters close to their hearts. Take the polls for example that I have put up, especially the one about them having to move in a group between the office and the aircraft. They dislike it and so are their unionists who are also cabin crew.
I for one think that the management is correct to ask them to move together. How often did we witness crew loitering around the departure area of Changi Airport in uniform, some queing up at the money changers, some smoking others chatting loudly on their mobile phones oblivious to the people around them.
It's high time those crew be kicked hard on their asses and made to tow the line. They had it too good for too long.
Those who polled that cc should not be made to walk in groups were cabin crew themselves. But I believe the public were the ones who voted that crew should travel in groups rather than seperately to the planes. I think the public has seen too much of the ugly side of their national carrier cabin crew.
The other main concern of the cc is that I washed dirty linens in public. So what huh? The world ought to know what's going on. But by posting anti me comments here won't help and it only goes to show that they are trying to hide something. I always believe in the saying " tell the truth and shame the devil". Just wait and I will let go more of their nonsense. Also just wait I will publish a book shortly and people will be green with envy when I start to make more money. Please take heart cc that even my ex colleagues the CCEs would NOT be spared.
You good people out there, thank you for your kind support and all the emails and nice comments. I shall always blog the truth and fear no one.

"senior crew":

just take it as info-entertainment. we crews, ranking n non ranking have different opinions about it but majority of us, think it's crap.

i reckon the primary existence is to churn off money to conduct classes for interviewees.

Re: Alan Khoo can someone pls help?

The appeal by David Blain to locate his friend Alan Khoo (the post below)must be taken seriously. Alan was a in flight supervisor with SIA until about 15 years ago. He left the airline on his own accord. He immigrated to Australia shortly after he left SIA.
Alan was a nice chap, hardworking and courteous. Although he was very strict with his crew,he was respected by them. He was an outstanding supervisor.
Alan loved the figure or number 4. He lived in a house with number 4 as his address in the East Coast.Singapore. He drove around in a Mercedes Benz with a license plate consisting of 4 4s i.e 4444. He told us 4 was his favorite number and it has brought him luck.
In S'pore and elsewhere most Chinese do not like the figure 4 because it means death ( pronounce as see in Hokkien, sei in Cantonese which means death).
So as you can see Alan has been flirting with SEI or SEE. I hope Alan is not consummed by SEI or SEE. Let's wait for a few more days or weeks to see whether anyone can tell us what has happened to Alan.

Broaden your what?

I once got this reply to my question as to why she would want to be a stewardess at the interview.."Sir I love travelling and besides I want to broaden my horizontal"

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Study law or study lor?

At the pre-flight briefing session an inflight supervisor asked a stewardess what was she doing before she joined the airline. Her reply was "study lor" to which the supervisor retorted.."you would be better off being a lawyer girl"

Vegetarian cat?

I can't help eavesdropping to a conversation between a stewardess and my manager. It went like this....
Stewardess "Sir I finally managed to be a vegetarian" to which my manager asked " How about your pet?"
Stewardess replied "You mean my pussy?"
Manager glanced at me and cheekily replied "Yes I mean your pussy"
Stewardess... " Sir my pussy loves sausages".
My manager and I burst into laughter.....hahaha

Job or dog?

She was late for an appointment with her manager. Stewardess Jill was to see her manager regarding a passenger's complaint about her work.
Jill was very late and when she turned up at the office she explained to her manager about why she was late. She had to attend to her pet dog who was in labour.
The manager was furious because punctuality is an important factor in the airline business. He then asked her " which is more important, your job or your dog?" to which replied "my dog sir".
Jill was "grounded for 3 months as a punishment for giving the above answer.

PS: when a cc is "grounded", he or she was assigned a desk job in the office and hence lower take home pay due to loss of allowances had they work on the flights.

Passenger kena injured

Wah lau a lady passenger kena cut on her head when flying SIA to London yesterday. Big commotion in the economy cabin because she was bleeding quite badly. She sustained the cut because of the cup holder. It was reported she bend down to retrieve something on the floor or something like that and cut herself. Luckily the cut was superficial. Just to be on the safe side the crew paged for a medical doctor and helped stitched her wound.
Anyone has more info on the above?

Pay back time

About a year ago (Nov 2008) I blogged about cabin crew spending like crazy oblivious to the recession which was staring and going to hit almost everybody hard ( http://www.bohtong.org/2008/11/current-crisis-affecting-crew.html ).
Not long after that SIA started to cut staff salaries and later urged the staff to go on unpaid leave. SIA reduced almost 11% of its flights and parked some of its aircrafts in the Arizona dessert.
CC was left with fewer flights to operate and resulted in lower take home pay.
As the credit crunch began to bite harder,SIA lost $466 million in the first half of 2009,a stunning reversal of the $682 it made in the same period the year before.
Now we hardly see cabin crew flashing their Rolex watches and Louis Vitton bags. Some have disposed off their cars, apartments and houses and downgraded to cheaper and smaller units. Others have moved in to stay with their parents.
Some cc have even declared bankrupt as they could not service their loans or pay back whatever they owed to lending institutions.
Many are taking public transport (BT met many of them in buses and MRT) while some even use motorbikes and bicycles as their means of transport.
But all is not lost as SIA ceo Mr. Chew Choon Seng puts it in today's Straits Times "More noteworthy is the fact that we are seeing a definite pick-up in bookings in business class...we are starting to see bankers in suits back in the first class and business class,so that is the encouraging part".
So cc should be returning in throngs at the pawn shops to redeem their Rolex watch, jewelleries etc... while some may have already visited car showrooms to book for their favourite brands of Toyota,Honda and to a certain extent Mercedes ( junior cc would probably visit Korean and China made car showrooms)

Oh no another molest case!

I heard from the grapevines a newly promoted chief steward was recently charged for molesting a stewardess. What's wrong with these guys huh? Never seems to learn from other cases. Pay la...go to Geylang cos there are many many Sexy gals available for fun and servicing. Got all kinds of nationalities..only about $100 bucks and won't get you a sack. You may get young ones as well as middle age ones(cheaper a bit). They all got licenses to operate so it's safe. It's no point trying your own colleagues which can get you a sack. Alternatively,if you dun wanna part with your 100 bucks, hold your 100 bucks in left hand and wang your lil brother with your right hand and in no time when you are sexually fulfilled your money will still be with you...hahaha.

Coffee tea or jackpot girls?

It was in Sept 1981 and that was 28 years ago. Wonder what has happened to those gorgeous girls who used to accompanied us on our flights to Hong Kong, Honolulu and LA? They were the girls working for the jackpot machine company. They would night stopped with us in HNL and LA after swiping those poor pasengers off their cash...hahaha.
We used to have fun with those girls. They were young just like most of us and fun loving. Their stay at oversea stations were usually shorter than the crew.
Before we got to know them better, they were all retrenched. The reason was SIA terminated the contract with their company after only 2 months. The jackpot machines were giving lots of mechanical problems and we could not help fixed them on board.

Cofee,Tea or gambling chips?

This article was published by Time in 1981:

Singapore Airlines has long been known for its elegant, poised stewardesses, whose teeth and manners are polished by company-paid dentists and the airline's own training school. Last week S.A. became known for something a little less gracious: high-altitude gambling. An S.A. 747 jumbo jet took off from Singapore, bound for San Francisco, with one row of tourist-class seats filled not with paying passengers but with....

Hahaha now SIA want cc to walk together.

Hahaha...now SIA asked the cc to walk together like a pack of wolves after the preflight briefing towards the aircraft so as to "create a positive impression on the public". The union is arguing against the order.
While it has its benefits it may create some inconvenience to the crew which the union is arguing against.
Trust me SIA is right in imposing that rule because in the past we often see crew wandering around the departure terminal chatting with friends or smoking at the smoking lounge/outside the terminal etc etc. Worst still if they talk on their mobile phone while walking to the aircraft.
The crew got to appear more disciplined and orderly when in uniform.
Anyway its a small issue and the union should relent and move forward to bigger issues.

Stewardesses met Bali beach boys

This story was told to me by another crew. Apparently 2 stewardesses who had enlarged their breasts through surgery went to Bali to show off their newly acquired assets. Bali was the place they chose because they felt comfortable with exposing their breasts in their bikinis.
They went to Bali also to befriend the Bali boys. The Bali boys provide friendship, entertainment, romance for western / Japanese ladies, and the beach is the meeting place. Bali boys are gigolos who make love to lonely foreign ladies to make a living. Some married older rich women and immigrated to their homeland.
One of the 2 stewardesses had a sexual affair with a Bali boy and later on married him.

A test for hearing problem.

Whenever the senior male crew called Rick or gave him instructions pertaining to work he seemed to have hearing problems. He would either not response or did the opposite of what we asked him to do.
On a flight, we guys told sexy stewardess Jenny about Rick. Jenny told us that she did not think Rick had hearing problem. To prove she was right, she called out to Rick in a soft sweet voice.."darling Rick come and fuck me..." ...Straightaway we saw a "chee kor pek" gleam in his eyes and a cheeky grin on his face and replied "Honey not during flight but for sure tonight I will...hehehe."

BT: Years later,Rick was medically boarded out for "hard of hearing"

Pro homosexual Japan,a friend of Obama.

Japan is the most pro-homosexual country in the world. Reason?
They can bathe together in public bath or hot spring and the condition is they must be naked!!! hahaha....no wonder Obama consider Japan its strongest ally in Asia.

Misuse of Company's loan

If a crew wanna borrow money from a bank or loan shark,he has to pay high interest rate. With SQ house renovation loan the interest rate is super low. But then how to get that loan and yet don't wanna renovate his house/flat?. Easy la and this was how they did it.
First SQ would lend a staff up a max of say x month salary (let say it's 10 months). So if the crew salary is 2k per month then he may borrow up to 2 X 10 which is equal to 20k. Payment may be stretched in installments of up to 5 years. If you work out the installment payment per month would be about $333 and with interest it won't even cross the $400 mark.
They would go to a hard up renovation contractor and asked for a bogus bill of the supposedly renovation work done. Attached the bill and submit with the application and the loan of 20k would be lent.
One may use the 20k for a hoilday or settle debts or whatever.
