CC interviewer please stop humiliating the candidates.

I tot stewardesses are supposed to be the smiling types but here the interviewer told a candidate for the stewardess position to stop smiling.
Also what's wrong with attending a course to prepare herself for the interview?
Btw, this candidate NEVER attended my course.
I have met her last night and I tot it's the airline loss for not recruiting her. She was absolutely warm and friendly and never ceased smiling when we were chatting over dinner and coffee. She has a pretty face and flawless skin. I have asked her to join another international airline if SQ does not want her.

Sometimes it hard to be an interview, you know the hundreds of people you have to interview. It makes it harder when the candidates are long winded.

I was also humiliated by an interviewer and worst still I was not selected though I was pleasant, polite and calm all the time.

The candidate must be really ugly,or she or he sounded so unnatural . That's why.

If she is ugly or for whatever reason you don't want her you got no right to be rude to her. Boot her out gently. That interviewer must be an inexperienced CCE. Ex CCE like Ong L H, raja etc were better.

SQ cc management are a PITA!

The interviewer could be testing the candidate her reactions. She was not selected, maybe she failed his tests.

We were instructed by the company not to humiliate nor pressure the candidates into submission to prove a point. We as interviewers must set the examples of being pleasant and friendly in tandem with SQ image. This particular interviewer must be a newbie or one who is ignorant of the rules.

I pity her. My interviewer was very strict too! But somehow he mellowed in the middle of the interview and started asking about my hobbies and interests.

BT: I think the interviewer was not diplomatic and has given SQ a bad image. There is talk among the wannabes that SQ cc management treat them like people begging for the job.

I got the same shit treatment at an interview too.

I have met interviewers who make life difficult for candidates by asking 'impossible to answer' questions and showing their displeasure when they do not get an answer they were expecting to get. Some even showed their very bossy characters during the interviews, all these were done to test the candidates, to see if they would take instructions at work well if they were selected. However, for this case, if the details related by the wannabe is true and correct, the reason could be that the interviwer just does not like the candidate due to some personal reasons such as she reminded him of a type of person that he dislikes or could be jealous of the candidates qualities etc. Just my 2 cents worth, can't really assess as I was not present at the interview, so can't be sure.

the CC interviewer is not professional in his job, it's alright for an interviewer to give the interviewee an unexpected response to test him/her reaction as people in real life could be nasty or rude and cabin crew must always be patient and polite. However in this case, the interviewer has crossed the boundaries to insult the interviewee, he had no right to ask her why didn't she join Thai Airways instead. This is a question based on prejudice and discrimination. I hope the interviewee who suffered this humiliation can point out the interviewer and make a formal complaint to SQ on the basis of discrimination. His professionalism, work ethics are questionable.

Heard she is writing to the press about the treatment given to her. SQ will have no face to hide.

Clap clap clap!!!!!!
Good publicity for SIA.

However there will be heaps of wannabes who still yearn to work for the Airline.

Let them have a go at it.
Other better airlines to work for rather than this.

wow! I am sorry to hear the shit they put you through. From a passenger point of view SIA crew do not seem to be as warm and genuine as they once were 10+ years ago.

The interviewer must be the idiot responsible for steering the service quality in the direction its headed.

imo cathay has far exceeded sia in this area lately

These interviewers are very jaded people as they are old birds in the airline recruiment.

For those who failed, don't despair and salute yourself for trying and constantly trying.

It's really a matter of luck whether you get in or not. I saw Ah Beng type whom got in with connection. Before interview, a supposedly interviewer whom I met in the first round went to speak to the interviewers on the second round (colleagues obviously) pointing out that the guy is her cousin/ brother or whatever.
