Union leaders sent "Pek Kim"

On 4th August this year my dear mother passed away.
My sisters and brothers had their many friends and colleagues at the wake. Of course our relatives and my mom's friends were there too.
As for me, I do not have many friends visiting us for the simple reason that I don't want to"inconvenient" them. However, wreaths and donations from some of the ex union leaders were sent to my mother. They included Alan, Rod and surprisingly Eddy too. Alan was on flight and did not attend the wake whilst Eddy is retired and had time to attend. Frankly, I was touched by Eddy's kind gesture ( he was considered my adversary at the last union election). Of course, I don't expect the present union people to attend because I had supported Alan.
Eddy and I had decided to put our differences aside and move on with our lives. As for Alan, I have not had a "kopi"  session with him for a year since he lost the union election. When I asked him to have a "kopi", he would tell me he is busy. Poor fellow cos the company must be "giving it back" to him for not spending much time flying when he was heading the union before his defeat last year.
To Alan I have this to say:  Fly la and make more $$ now cos when you come back in 3 years time you will be flying lesser and lesser.
To Eddy: Move on la and let the younger asses ruin the show.....Ooops I mean run the show....hahaha.

If life was better, we would have already got our retirement at 62. Or IFA increment. How come never even happen.

Lesser money during his tenure and even had to resort to ask company to change the lock-in to match Tech crew LMA. All these happen before the elections. Pathetic.

Now the current Union so quiet... dunno WTF is happening. CA no news. Retirement a question. Hotel selection is not even better, same as previous team. Some of the reps are even clueless about company stuff.

Buck up or you will shipped out.

If Alan is that good, he would have won the last election and not lost by a big margin. It clearly shows that crew has lost faith in him. Plus he is not able to handle management neither foresight.

If Tony and his team is equally the incapable or popular. Someone better than Tony or Alan better stand for the next election.

Will DEFINITELY tell the crew not to vote for either if Tony is not able to deliver.

"I hope come next election, you will have the balls to have a team ready and lead cc. The younger cc are not interested to make the sacrifices. We are only interested in our own rosters, rest days, promotions and shopping.
If you do not form a team to lead come next election, cc will be doomed as no one will fight the election.

Alan tan has a good team.they are hardworking,dedicated and not cocky.they know their stuff.Alan tan lost because tony Sim and his crooks managed to con crew with lies.crew now realised the truth,most crew regretted especially the junior rank.they should resign from the union and with high numbers leaving NTUC will step in and call for re-elections.I have resigned last year.

No matter what happens, CA signed you and I will get the same thing. Then you decide who did a better CA.

Too bad you resigned from the Union? Which means you cannot vote again 3 years later. Pity!

P.S. If Alan team is so good, why did they engaged Tony Sim to help them to calculate LMA during the last CA? Don't Alan has people that can count?

You all never learn. A union leader needs EXPERIENCE, EXPERIENCE and EXPERIENCE. A new leader can be born overnight? Remember Ben?

Alan has experience? On what basis? Whatever his team has negotiated are only savings for the company out from crew's pocket. I had not have any income gain since 2001. More specifically, my IFA, retirement and basic pay.

The reason why we are not getting more is because of what Alan had signed. So long Tony has not sign any new CA, status quo the same as what Alan has agreed. So whatever crew is getting now is the same as what Alan has signed since last CA in 2009.

The correction that Alan did was to ask company to change the LMA to be the same as Tech crew before the elections. If his LMA has no flaw, why cant he stick to his guns and use his CA LMA calculations??

So if he has experience like you say, how come help company save so much money but we do not see any income gain or retirement benefits (Mind you I am not gg to retire at 45 and get the lump sum. Unless you are one of those opting to retire at 45.)?

It is an election promise and it was never a CA item. Maybe you would like to read the CA and the Choice Manifesto properly.

MTM, CA items? Didn't Tony address to all crew about CA items and MTM via email? Or maybe you have overlook that email and deleted it away. Give me your email address, I will forward you his message.

BTW, Tony's team mouth is not as "loose" as Alan's team. I rem they were trying to sell the per diem to the crew with the $500 increment. In the end, never fulfil. Yet towards the end of his term, delayed calling for elections so that he can negotiate for a "better" LMA (change lock-in to match with Tech Crew). The biggest joke is that he also signed a clause that we were to back pay the company should there is a difference in LMA from JUL-DEC. Mind you that he LMA rates we were enjoying from JUL-DEC was rates from JAN-JUN.

Tech crew paid for the difference. Whereas when Tony won, and inherited Alan's agreement which will only expire in DEC 2010. Till date, we had not paid a single cent back to company!

So tell me, if Alan has the experience. He WOULD have read all the fine prints before signing. Will WOULD negotiate with the company that would not be a disadvantage to the crew.

In the LAST agreement, he did not.

If Alan and his team has done a very good CA and his team members are less arrogant. There should not be so many dissent among the crew ranks.

By losing such a big margin, clearly shows that they are not popular.

Best advice to Alan, we had did so much damage to Cabin Crew Division by agreeing to everything to TPT. 1. LMA formula change, resulting CC taking lesser than Tech Crew in certain stations (Namely OZ, JPN and Middle East)

2. Poor management in gratuity pay out for end of contract and retirees.

3. Agreeing to the introduction of UFS (IFS and CS) which created dropped in standard in SIA service culture.

4. Poor in negotiating with SD, like the cups for teas, 72R service flow.

5. Creating more divide in Cabin crew by talking loosely all CI and DI cases. The worse is all CI cases lost their appeals and resulting in termination.

6. By ALLOWING a delegate to move from UNION to Management! A first in SQ Union history! (For a simple reason: He did not get his CS promotion!!)

The list does not end here. There so many boo boos that Alan and his team has made during his term. I rem during one of the MTM, Alan walked out of the meeting when he was cornered. Imagine when he is cornered in CA negotiation, did he actually walked away too?

During the vote counting of the last election, Alan did not even stayed to the end of the vote counting to congratulate the winners. He left his team to do it! A good and experience leader??

Alan is history. Now is Tony era. There are 18 promises made by Choice during the election. We voted Choice because of the 18 promises.

One year had passed. How many of the 18 promises had been implemented.

Ask any crew when you go to work. How many of them are dissapointed with the current union.

No see no hear. Boh Siah. Very quiet. We are a lost sheep.

Choice, please lead us and not hide anymore. We need you. Come out and be visible. Please stop the fighting amongst yourselves. The uinion should be serving its Members.

I asked union reps why no news if meet the members as promised they have no answer.they will say speak to tony bcos no one wants to organize it as they cannot agree on the date.venom has new enemy who are botak and denieel chief.
