New CC collective agreement good for shareholders.

Heard from crew that the newly concluded CA is depressing. For the retirement extension of senior crew  from 57 to 58 yrs and to 62 yrs as well as an additional of 3 yrs for the others, they will have to give up lots of their benefits....eg. they will only be paid penalty payment of 1 1/2 time the IFA after working for 90 hours and more a month (up from 70 hrs during Eddy's time and 80 from Alan's). Besides, I was told the 5 day stay in London has been reduced to 4. That's a lot of saving for the airline ( about $4 million a year in savings).
Frankly, as a shareholder,I do not mind the cost cutting measure. The airline is suffering in terms of profits and its standing as the best in the world.
The union people are also very understanding. I read in the ST that the president pledged to help the airline in this difficult time. Bravo union boys and gals!
SIA, I was told should open up its sports club for public membership and sell its 49% stake in VS. Generate more fund so can appease the shareholders.
The other thing the management could do is to close or scale down SIA as a major airline and concentrate on SilkAir, Scoot and other subsidiaries. In a long run the it will be more profitable, that's what I think.
Don't worry about being a big and prestigious airline, just concentrate on making $$$ for the shareholders.

The award was in 2009 but last year SIA was ?????

Alan is no more. Long live Tony.
Live with it. The CA is an excellent CA.
CC can work longer, SIA save money, Shareholders

Cc always complain too much, the world is going into recession, and company worldwide will be retrenching, let's help the company to save. Never mind about the money, got job (extra 1 year) is good. After 58 yrs then decide what to do. Ca is good, all parties win. Dont be greedy. Got job, not enough money is ok, just tighten a little, do not overspent, no shopping, cut down on partying, drinking and betting.

I pity the Union committee members (past or present). Right kenna whack, wrong kenna whack. It is really a "thankless" job for them.

Now we may have our job and the pay may not be the best. Should come to a point where retrenchments sets in, there will be some folks scrambling to ask the Union committee for help. So the question is Job security or $?

If there is a team of crew that is willing to sacrifice their off days, long flights and time with family to get a better CA for us. I will cast my vote for them.

worse sellout ever.. CA expired almost 2 yrs and this is what we get.. who the hell wants to work longer not sure those CS or IFS may live till 62.. we want more $$ now.. who is to make sure they give everyone the extra contract, when time comes, they juz dun renew and ask you to leave and hire new crew.. same shit over and over again..why no increase in our basic pay after all these yrs???

CC should appreciate that they have employment for another year. Those on contracts got extra two years of employment. CC is a lucky lot. Can see the word, eat in nice restaurants the world over, shopping around the world and more.

Another extra years to do this. Dont think too much about money. Its the lifestyle.

Be grateful.

If so good this job,why the junior crew leaving in large numbers,MC going up.Every mth company conducting interview for new crew,if they still squeeze the current crew, more will resign and serview will drop further. What the union should be doing is to highlight to management this and to convince crew not to resign or take mc but to fly more and get paid more. Now we fly more and paid less, its a joke.

Any idea when was the time when the CA was concluded that it was headlines on the papers? Good CA, bad CA. Crew decides or you decide. Only at the next election, the voted in committee will know.

EXCUSE US ....PLEASE GO AND CHECK ALL THEIR ROSTERS...LONG FLIGHTS EVERY MONTH AND HIGH YIELD..

That means to say you are doing all the long flights with them too? How would you know they have long flights in their rosters?

Unless you have been sleeping around with ppl in Control and Planning to "dig out" their rosters. :P

cabin crew should just go slow. there is no point trying to make sia no.1. it became a norm for them. extension 1 to 2 yrs is nothing great. the company still have the final say. every c.a we are always giving away goodies to company.do the , are we earning more? with more crew resigning, the burden still lies on the senior crew. to all c.i.c. please do not get yr crew to soar. lets be frank and honest. with this kind of management , would u want to stay longer.cc r hardworking people. we r asking for fair treatment. unfortunately the management and unions treat us like idiots. just go slow eg if 10 mths he sps survey is no. always no.10. dont u think the mgment will panick? unity is the best solutions for cc

Heard the pilots bringing the company to court over the CA,even with the 10% in salary increase. Now they have to operate Shanghai, male and Perth turn. What about cabin crew, flying more but getting less,we should also bring the company to court over the CA.Give us peanuts and the take away the whole factory.Additional 02 yrs for the girls and guys on tendure from 58yrs to 60yrs subject to their discretion.

Anonymous said...

Wow so much of comments here. roster is easy to track ... just spend some time on the aircrews and you can know after a while who is doing all the long flights. its abit of work but that is the way. no need to ask anyones help whether in control or planning or rostering .Easy as that.
As for ca well at least that has been done and we have to move forward and hope fopr things to smoothen out in tha aviation industryu.
its not easy doing the ca and i can assure you that it is tough.

I waited 17 mths for the CA,hoping to get paid more and working conditions improved, what happen now,I have to suffer because of senior crew extension.I dont want be a steward after 15yrs or 20 yrs in the company, extending them means that promotion will now be slower and I have to work longer, get paid less,my 02 off days gone a year,my london 05 days to 04 days. With this agreement, what about FRA and all other europe station,is it gonna be 04 days.Looks like all of us are dead

Anonymous said...

We are not afraid of hard work, pay us like they pay the pilots.Who says its not easy doing CA,just trade off, take from the poor and give the rich,in the case of cabin crew, take from the junior crew and give to the seniors for their extension. How many of us get a chance to work to 58yrs,most of us are on contract,so what even with 01 more contract, but i am earning less.If my basic is 3k mth i dont mind being a steward,my ceiling is only $2100,that is if i remain a steward for 20 yrs.

Plus, I have not heard from the Union what they have "given" away. Maybe I will attend their MTM to find out more. This is better then what all the rumors floating around. No head or tail or hearsay, wouldnt it be better from the horse's mouth?

are you referring to so and so's mistress ?she does after all looks like a horse.

I think it is not necessary & not nice to name
calling others.Whoever u are, please do not hit
someone below the belt. It just shows that u
are a nasty person and karma will always find
you or your family members. Hold the tongue
if there is nothing good to say. If need to

BT: What happened to your administrating of your blog. You allow ppl to hit others under the belt now? You even posted videos and stuff condemning the CA without proof. If you gonna delete this posting, I will not hesitate to report to SIASU office on Monday. Plus I think it is fair that you remove all your postings with regards to your comments of your CA and you owe a apology to SIASU and all cabin crew.
