Singapore Airlines Passenger Reviews and Singapore Airlines Customer Trip Reports

Singapore Airlines Customer review :  31 May 2012 by Davison Horst    (USA)

JFK-BKK via FRA and SIN on A380 and B777. Their planes are clean and well maintained. Our A380 had seatback AVOD with hundreds of programs available. The seats had connections for Ethernet, USB, and Power and reclined by moving slightly back and down so as not to intrude on another's space. The seats had dual position foot rests, the meals in economy are equal to meals in first class on other airlines. All sorts of wine, spirits, beer, and soft drinks are available for free. FAs did not disappear or hang out talking in the galley. If there is one thing that I might change - it would be the 32 inch pitch in economy. Singapore's seat pitch should be equal to Korean's and Thai at 34 inch. Otherwise there is little comparison between Singapore and any other airline.

I was on SQ11 from LAX-NRT-SIN. The A380 main deck has stains outside the storage area (next to 44C). Mine and my neighbour's tray table was not clear well - black marks at the corner. 2 yr old A380 is not as clean as new than the old 747 I used to take on the same route. Cleaning crew please take note. Stewardess was full of smiles which was good. The movie selection was poor - I was expecting Mission Impossible 4, Man in Black 3, Avengers; but it didn't even have one-year old Captain America, Spiderman, Iron Man, Transformer. I ended up watching Austin Power and Simpsons.

Hope SIA takes note of above feedback.

I am back from SIN-NRT-LAX on SQ12 on June 6. Was inbound on SQ11 on May 30. Was presented with the same set of in-flight movies. I thought SIA used to change movies at the beginning of every month? What happened? On the other hand, CC was as friendly and smiley as I noted previously. Few years ago when you press the call button and ask for drink, CC will just come and disappear w/o saying a word, later served your drink w/o a word. Now at least they "sir" here "madam" there, and try to communicate with you - a big plus.

What do you expect?

All the pioneers had left.

The new generation of crew don't bother to interact much with the passengers.

Now it's "No More A Great Way To Fly".
