Shorter queue at today's SIA cabin crew interview.

The queue for today's interview is much shorter. I was told the interviewers had at times waited for enough number of candidates to form a group to carry out the interview.
The reason was because this interview is confined to S'pore citizens only.
In the past years, the interviews were opened to people from as far as India and Japan.
SIA could not get enough of  the "right" people they wanted. So SIA will still continue sourcing for the "right" candidates.
The recent bad publicity in the press regarding the reduction in its cabin crew take-home pay and the low morale amongst it cabin crew may have discouraged the suitable people for the job. Still, SIA must continue recruiting and if left with little choice it will lower its standard and get the "not so suitable" people.
The attrition rate is about 2% every month and with slower replacement, the inflight service will take another big hit. So what choice has SIA got?
Either way, the service will be affected.

hi bt, is it true stewards have much less interaction with paxs as compared to stewardesses and do more manual and galley work 'behind the scene'? i dun mind doing them, just wanna know is it true.

Cabin crew are just too sick and tired of the company.so many rules and punitive methods introduced since this union took over from alan tan.nobody wants to do extra onboard bcos company is cutting their pay inview of less profits.crew earning at least 15% lesser since 2 years ago.more paycuts expeccted as company wants to cut cost.at least 100 crew leaving each month.crew has to pay back $100 a month for at least 7 months bcos of cockup by the union.how not to leave.

yes it's true but sometimes the stewards would take the role of the stewardesses vice versa
