A compliment from an old friend

We were on the subject of retired IFS and CS who are now re-employed by SIA as aircraft safety instructors on a part time basis. We understand that these people are being paid between $120 to $150 per day. There is no medical insurance and any other payment as they are considered part timers. The job of a safety instructor is tough and for a retiree (most are over 60) it could be strenuous. That's when my friend told me I am having the best job with a decent income.

Hi mr bt,
To be able to work and enjoy life to fullest is almost impossible in Singapore. Even if there is such an opportunity , many people fear to step out.
Recently I did a flight and was sharing with my crew I m paying $5000 for some workshop training to help me in my next career and I receive overwhelming criticism on why I waste such money. I find it funny how spending on branded bag is justified while I pay to learn a skill is bombarded lol

Best regards

Those old foggies should be glad they still can earn $120 per day as part timers instead of clearing plates at hawker centers. As typical cc, they are never contented and grateful for what they have.
