Who will win the next cabin crew union election?

Friday, October 29, 2010

Congrats Choice!

Choice won by a landslide. It had 1304 bloc votes against Heart which had 779. Unity had 138 bloc votes.
Congrats to the Choice people. Now that cc had voted you into office we hope you will not disappoint them in the next 4 years.

BT: The above was posted by me in 2010 after Choice won the union election. Now 4 years on cabin crew how are you going to vote in the next union election (end 2014)?

Perhaps, without Tony the Choice Party leader (he is not standing), Choice may be changing its name. I supposed Heart Party ( leader is Alan Tan) will still retain its name.
As for Unity whose leader is PJ Singh I think it will be contesting under the same banner.

I was told about 1,000 cabin crew members resigned from the union during the last 4 years due to dissatisfaction with the ways things were being handled. I'll like to remind these 1,000 or so cc that you will NOT be allowed to vote unless you rejoin the union.

Please note that comments pertaining to the election that are defamatory, scandalous, accusatory or half-truths etc will not be published.

Bias!

Allan's Kaki said...

Bohtong polls is showing PJ is neck and neck with Allan and this is scary. Allan better work harder or else cc will be having a hard time again with PJ or Vernon winning.

When Alan was running the union, they wanted Tony. Now with Tony around, they want Alan back. A full circle, Sigh!

Majority of cc do not know what they want. They got shit brain and when they retire they either be a cabby, chauffeur or security guard.

Please be more matured and stop call people unsavory names. Such name calling will not guarantee your choice candidate assured victory! Do not indulge in gutter politics!

Talking about tracking records?

PJ has no records to track. But Allen had 3 years at the helm. Since you mentioned records, then do it!

What has Allen achieves and gives away?

XXX was involved in a molesting case years back,it was eddie chew that got him off the hook. How to vote for union leaders who have no integrity and character a big question mark.Union leader must be exemplary, how is the management going to respect our union leader with such record.

Old thinking. No need respect from Management.Union leader must be strong and can create earthquake which can destroy some manager rice bowls by his obstinate actions which will cause issues. cc need a strong and stubborn union leader.if management respect the union leader die lor - jiak all. eddie was a stubborn and hard headed leader and got many things for cc.he also has a gf on the side.respect by management?no.he was skillful and they fear that he can cause their rice bowl to be broken.

NOT WHEN HIS OWN RICE BOWL IS AT STAKE. E Chew had good backing, not sure about the others.

Union reps must be unyielding with management. Stand the ground.
Law? what law?.. they have the support from the members, if they were voted in.

Managers have it too easy that is why the company is not strong, not innovative.

I say fight all the way
Never give in
If you are sick, see a doctor
If you need an MC, get one
If you have been accused of wrong doing, see your rep before answering to anyone who is from management.

We need to have the union back in the foreground not underground, not in the background.

No more sissy style.

Not a bad idea for all CC to start looking for alternative employment or better still, to start your own business. There is very little scope for unionism in a place like Singapore. Added on to this is the gloomy economic climate that portends little hope for a recovery. The economic boom and bull run of the 80s not likely to make a repeat performance, at least for the next five years or more.

SIA is still bleeding and is not likey to recover. It's days of glory are numbered and it will take more than a miracle for it to regain its prestige once admired the world over.

I know of a case where a manager from CC was transferred out of the division. The SVP was involved and for some good years, CC became peaceful. Trouble with these so=called MGRs, many of them do not posesse the qualities required of them. Once in CC, they develop a lofty attitude and start kicking the crew around.

The bad news for CC came when we lost the most talented TRG MGR that we've ever had...a Phd who specialised in working with gifted childen. Her SVP, an absolute idiot, did not get along with her. He falied miserably in his ventures with other airlines. He too could not see eye to eye with the founder, his new boss of a foreign airline, who started out as a travel agent.
