Is the comment justified?

A reader of this blog, supposedly a cabin crew left this comment concerning wannabes who attend cabin crew preparatory courses or seminar to help them pass the cc interview:

People who need to attend talks or classes just to be a waiter/ess are definitely losers and don't deserve to be in the airline. I had never ever attended a single talk or go back STC during promotion exercises or go back attend courses. Yet, I cleared every hurdle from being a steward all the way to IFS. All 1 shot, 1 kill.

If one needs to pay and attend a prep course to pass and wayang through an interview just for a waiter's or waitress's job, it goes to show the calibre of that individual. Really pathetic, in my honest opinion....

Instead of helping those pathethic souls get their dream waiter/ess jobs, there are actually people like BT who try to profit from these losers.

I beg to differ. Interviewed with SIA numerous times without success until undergoing Mr Boh Tong's coaching thereafter passing the interview smoothly and taking on the cabin crew position. I've since left the airline to run my own business cum corporate training. Without Mr Boh Tong, I wouldn't have joined the airline, without the airline, I wouldn't be where I am now. So, I'm equally grateful to both Mr Boh Tong and the airline. Many of us are successful in our subsequent careers because the airline's grooming. So, do you still think cabin crew is a waiter/waitress job?

Well, it certainly didn't improve your English.

How about those that become property agents, cabbies, security guards, food court cleaners hotel butlers etc? SIA groom them also huh?
You are just the minority who still can survive outside and live to boast about it.

Maserati, you must really be fcucked up to fail the simple interview numerous times, and need someone to teach you how to wayang through a simple interview. Can you please share with us what you have learnt from your stint with Sia that has made you so successful in your subsequent career..... besides learning how to be bitchy, offloading stuff without being caught, smuggling, bedding as many virgins as possible, drinking and smoking etc etc...

Look back and you will see what the airlines teaches me even though I am also set on leaving the job.
Look back and you will appreciate. Some of the valuable lessons our coy teaches me:

- Employee comes first, follow by customers and shareholders. Without the happy employees, there wont be happy shareholders. It is also very important to reward the veterans that fight many wars with you instead of getting rid of them when they are no longer needed.
- Lead by example. Punishing employees for being late but managers themselves can be late at CP12 for as long as 30mins.
- Karma. Our coy also made me learnt that Karma exist in this world. Do not harm peoples rice bowl because another will come harm yours back. Its a cycle.
- Being a waiter / waitress, I learned how to appreciate waiter/ waitress, if i am never in this job, I still live in the world where i think I pay $1 i deserve $2.

I believed these are some important lessons learned that can help you be a good boss if you are deciding to be one. Thank you for reading.
