Will one be affected by the whining and ranting?

With all the comments from the operating crew plus my once-in-a-while "two cents worth" advice, we hope we did not scare off people from applying for the job of a flight attendant.
The fact of the matter is, in every company there will be always be workers who will rant, whine and complain about their bosses, about work, their pay, their colleagues and what have you.
So it is hope that the wannabes and non-cabin crew visitors do not have a negative view of the flight attendants or the job.

To be honest, only a small minority whine and complain. The cabin crew job is a good one, given one only need to have an O level. The pay is quite good (a junior steward or stewardess get about 3.5k to 5k a month) and serving passengers is not that difficult. In fact, working in the office and trying to please the bosses is harder and trickier than to please the passengers. After all it okay to have difficult passengers (only once in a while) because they pay the crew their salaries. As for the bosses, they are merely employees just like anyone of us and it is not so okay for them to treat us inconsiderately.

That said, come 14 March many will be queuing for the SIA cabin crew job at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. Please note the interview will be at Suntec this time and not the usual Sheraton Tower Hotel.
My guess is at least 1,000 people will be trying for the job. Many have written to me asking for info about the interview even before SIA had put up the 14 March ads in its website.
Many have asked me how many candidates will SIA shortlist for this upcoming interview. I don't really know but again my guess is in the region of 150 to 200.
Some have asked me when will I be conducting my "Talks". I have not decided the date yet but will have at least one session before the interview. A few emailed me for "Personal Coaching" and I've told them to contact me again once SIA advertises the date of the interview (which SIA has).

I know many will not be affected by what is written in this blog (the negative stuff) and will attend the 14 March interview.
