Talks for SIA cabin crew hopefuls is here

The junior cabin crew are now in "charge"

These days the junior crew are very brazen. They would complain against their seniors if things aren't going their way. A couple of days ago, one complained against her chief stewardess for smoking and her work style. The complaint was addressed to the CEO of SIA.
One junior stewardess disagreed with her chief stewardess's style of leadership and reported to the company.
Another stewardess complained to the cabin crew division about her IFS upgrading another crew to the business class. The IFS was subsequently demoted by the company 3 ranks down to leading steward.
They would not hesitate to write to the highest authorities, sometime by-passing the cabin crew managers for anything they aren't happy.

The so-called traditional Top Ten IFS (Commandos) were cowed by these young crew to the extent of non existent.

These young junior crew are quick to rebut, argue and accuse their seniors of perceived wrongdoing. They are in the airline not for the long term but will quit once their bond period is up. Some will quit the moment their objectives are met or are fed-up with serving people.

Management has to be wary of these crew because one of these days they may even complain to
the authorities about the way things are being run in cc. That day will come and may cause some discomfort to the managers and others.

Your batch mate was a senior crew?

I know your batch mate. He will eat Ovgml on 1st and 15th of every month. Never kill anybody or put fire. Yet he get such a outcome. Very sad story indeed

The Company has placed a blazing gun in the hands of these young crew. Many of these youngsters have been ingrained with immense pomposity, self entitlement and an attitude cultivated from childhood to complain for example, about their domestic maids. Parents waste no time in taking sides when scolding their maids in front of their children. This leads to an emboldened ego and with time, becomes a given right. The SVP who initiated the UFS was on a video recently. His jacket was not even buttoned. He looked far being smartly dressed.

I know that guy also. Nice chap but fate and company had not been kind to him. Wish him well.

Once a complain has been made, the management doesn't do any further investigation to find out if the complaint was a fact or fictitious is it??

Management Crony said...

To be fair we do our own investigation but will give the benefit of the doubt
to the complainant and whack the good for nothing "chiat liaw be" seniors.

Sad to say, the management listens more to the junior crew, without realising how vindictive SOME of the junior crew are!!! UFS..majority of the complex leaders boh chap, that's why service drops.Correcet the crew or not to correct, still same salary plus the junior crew love the complex leaders.
However, there are still a handful of excellent complex leaders, not afraid to correct the crew.
CC Management wake up!!!

Yep. The crew who kena complained is deemed guilty as charged unless he can prove himself innocent.
The assumption is why would other crew report him/her if there is nothing wrong?

So the company encourages its employees to screw each others back for good measure.
This is one sadistic company to boot.

The UFS replaces the need to have a rank higher than IFS to ensure things are done "right".
It is a wonderful "cost free" tool to keep all seniors on their toes.

And this raises the question:

If all crew-in-charge follow the rule book, to avoid being accused of wrong doing, why have rank and promotions?

Just rotate "crew-in-charge" among crew who have at least 5 years experience. Pay a "crew-in-charge allowance for that sector.

But no!

No more fun for management to create politics and a climate of fear.

Climate of fear is what keeps things running, its what makes things work for the company not for the employees.
FEAR!!! Is what keep things in line.
