Someone spotted this retired IFS working in a local supermarket. Guess how much is he paid paid? $8 per hour! Working as a what? Perhaps he is a general worker doing the laborious loading of goods or perhaps a cleaner. I really don't know. This guy is working to pass his time. I was told he is financially sound and does not need to work in his retirement. In this case, if he does not need the money and since he is bored, he should be doing charity work. Nah! all these people just say they don't need the money and work for fun or to kill time.
Even if you do not need the money, why should you let unscrupulous employers exploit you...for $8 an hour?? You should have some pride and ask for more or perhaps you do not have the skills or qualifications/experience to deserve more pay? I rather be bored to death than to let people exploit me.
Why don't you do something else eg: be a dog walker? I can help create a website or blog for you and get some business.
A dog walker is someone who walk the dog when the owner is away on vacation or business. One hour in the morning or evening and you can earn as much as $50 per dog a day. All you need is an average of 4 dogs a day and you will be paid $200. Besides, walking is a good exercise.
Don't be scared of dogs cos they won't bite or attack you. You may start off with a small dog.
If you do not like dogs, you may be a cat nanny. This simply means you go to the cat's place and feed the cat when the owners are away. You don't have to walk the cat but you would have to clear the poo and tidy up the cat's home. This job pays about $20 per cat per day.
Driving a cab or be a Uber driver is more worth it than working for a supermarket that pays peanuts like in the above retired IFS's case.
As for the current cabin crew, I would encourage you to take up some skills or courses that will help you when you retire from flying (in case if you are "bored".
