Dear Mr. Luke,

I understand that since 2015, there has been a new salary scheme for the CC. Unlike the previous scheme where long haul flights have a higher pay per hour, the current scheme has a standardized pay per hour for a particular rank (FS, LS, CS, IFS), there is no stopover allowance or IFA.

Under this new scheme, wouldn't two CC within a same rank, e.g. FS, have similar pay regardless of whether he does ULR or the usual flights assuming the total number of hours in the month is the same?

Could you please clarify?

Mike.... the IFA has increased for all cabin crew eg for a FS or FSS it $12.80 per hour of duty time. For the ULR flights (18 hr duty time and more), a FS or FSS is paid $38.40 per hour
(3 X $12.80 = $38.40). For duty time between 14 hr and 17 hr 59 mins the IFA is 2 X $12.80 and for flights under 14 hr the IFA is $12.80.

Due to the increase of the IFA, SIA has removed the IMA (Inflight Meal Allowances) and ONA (Over Night Allowances).

Overall, the IFA has increased between 28% and 35 %.

So, in the end doing long haul flights still pay much more! The press release is kind of misleading then.

If you dont have any 2.5X IFA flights in the months you loss big time !!! Its eat grass for the month. Over all the CC will loss out , 1 crew gain and 1 crew lose guess who is the winner ?

Banglaland,pop 156 million ,situated end of Ganges, between Myanmar and Indieland .Mere fact it supplies the most peacekeepers ,more labourer and chronic unemployment, and tee shirt capital of the world.Open air cafes and one can be in a hostage situation, not good if you don't fit in with the local. Slap does around you who profess we should go down their way of life. Also youself if you ever harbour any thoughts of Bangla as standard in Singland. That should stop turning Singland into Bangland in any manner or form.

Ayooo,we are first world officially,supposedly with Swiss standard of living and yet comparisons are being made to Banglas!What is happening to SG? Should compare to first world countries! Given the slow economy,the new rates are ok for now.

The corrections, adjustments, to accede to pax expectations is very challenging. Sometimes crew bear a greater risk just to manage it because of
errors, poor procedures created by "authorities"... by other parts of the company.

Does the salary reflect that man-on-the -spot risk?

Take for example Milan delay.. the effort and stress to keep customers calm in a "creepy"delay... is that worth the salary?..

If techical or war zones situation, probably have to sit it out till it safe. The paxs can enjoy the delay by making the best of it but having an Italian breakfast complete with sausage better tban on the plane. Probably If full of tiong paxs they might be vocal and ran riot. Being on the ground Italian law applies or EEC or whatever is left. On the air probably Singapore law applies. Ground staff could faciliate transfer those who can connect to within Europe for those in haste. In such situation, probably creature comfort and tour disruption will be the main items on their mind, so refund, compensation will not on the those, unless Tiong kok paxs think otherwise. In case of complain of procedural, it goes down the line from IFS to Am, CCE. Complains from PPS are normally given higher weightage even If the name is Mr Kong Boh Lan, which in this case the FS,FSS is warned and probation extended, or no renewal. The senior crews knows the KPI feeding,so it concerns self preservation by the Am,CCE. Being a unionist have a stronger base so can deflects any case. Behind every case, there are lots of power plane, swan song, young people with internet skills in recession time ? The salary is fixed whether the crews survive another situation, much like the train stoppage in the MRT.
