Surplus crew so offer of VNPL

SIA is having surplus cabin crew especially among the chief stewards/chief stewardesses rank as well as the junior crew. Therefore, SIA has offered the crew to go on "Voluntary No Pay Leave" (VNPL) from September to November 2017.
As a consequence, I think recruitment of new cabin crew will slow down in the coming months.

Better put some use of the 'free' time during no pay leave.

Go attend a course that you are interested in
or
attend a course that could prepare you for the next job.

Flying is not forever. Go ask anyone who has their knees knocking
while waiting for extensions...

Pity those who are overstretched in their loans. Imagine if they have housing loan to pay and mouths to feed.

Did you guys even read the post ? It says Volunteer No Pay Leave and not Compulsory No Pay Leave ....

Good point there. Perhaps they should consider setting aside their OA before getting their house and have it all wiped out.
