SIN/TPE VV & SIN/MLE VV

SIA has the intention of not allowing the cabin crew to layover in TPE and MLE but instead perform turnaround duty. It is a cost cutting measure and  SIA could save millions.
If implemented, the total of duty hours would be around or more than 12.
SIN/TPE flight time is 4 hours 30 minutes and if add up the 2 sectors (SIN/TPE/SIN) the total flight time is 9 hours. Reporting time ex SIN is 2 hours and transit time in TPE is 1 hour. Therefore, the total duty time is 12 hours.
The SIN/MLE/SIN sectors is also around 12 hours or more.
The crew are pretty concerned about SIA's intention. They are worried about fatigue and safety not only of themselves but the passengers as well, I was told.
However, much to the relief of the crew, their union has strongly rejected the idea.

Mgmt can ram this through.
Union is highly dependent on NTUC to defend and support them.

Mgmt must understand that after the 1st sector, another load
of pax have expectations of eager and fresh crew. It is not the
same as a 12 hour non-stop sector where pax intitial expectations
have faded and crew are more familiar with pax's needs.

Imagine that a group of office workers turn up for work
for the first 4 hours, go out for lunch, return to their desks
to find that their previous set of customers have completely changed.
With different requests and energy.

Its not the same with a restaurant setting where customers come to have a meal.
On flights, customers have a wide range of needs and wants. From assistance to diaper
and milk changes, to entertainment issues and a host of others too.

This is a very simplistic attempt at cost cutting.
It reflects the very shallow thinking of middle managers.

Of course, if the service was reduced to just coffee/tea and a pastry, it will
meet the cost objectives. But SQ is only willing to bugger labour and not the process or equipment. That uses up all the neurons that is left, leaving behind morons.

Sell the shares.

Dont use these warp theory to justify the needs for high salary, less work. If the crew cant adapt and cope, the door is always open for them to leave.

Inflight service is just a simple process. No need to make it sound as though its so complicated. Its a simple waiter/waitressing job. No need label yourselves as bar tenders, salesman, ambassadors, nurses, someliars, translators, bb sitters etc la.

Dont bring in safety and security la. If soldiers can train or go long hours without much rest, why are we entrusting our lives, families and country to them?
If security guards work 12h shifts on roataion and 6 days a week, why are security entrusted to them?

New ways of service.After VY case of demise on n/s bed now on board.If SQ follows expect serious repercussion on cpr on crews who fainted on duty or DOA.Worse if full service on both sector.AM and IFM happy because of lip service.The rest can drop one by one.

SIA should cut the crew salaries and allowances first. embarrassing.. the exorbitant crew salaries.

what is the difference between crew and buffet banquet waiter?? Please just pay buffet banquet salaries to the crew. Ground staffs deserved better pay than the crew.

I absoultely agree with the above comments on cutting crew pay. Klkk cbl yet everyday keep hear them whine abt v siong etc. Ask them work outside! They cant even tahan 1d course or 2d SEP which requires them wake up at 730 am. Work 1 day hk turn (equiv to a normal workinv hr outside) they get 36h rest and yet they are not contented! These ppl are nothinv more than waiters and waitresses

Company very bo liao. This idea has been floated up many years ago and every time kena shoot down. Yet they still try and try. Nimpeh dont know hear how many times liao. What tpe turn. What 1 set pax up 1 set pax back lhr etc.Nimpeh just ignore. Got then say la. All empty talk.

Customers are always a challenge.
Its more so if the product has gained widespread fame.
Their expectations are very high.

With any challenge, it is advantages to have high energy levels.
Unless the company expects nothing less than exceptional performance
each and every time. It would take a lot of personal drive, sacrifice,
and a belief that what the company is trying to achieve, the success will
be felt by everyone. Just like Croatia's World Cup performance.
With less than 100 people in a team it is possible.
With 7,000+ crew? and not all will do the TPE/MLE flight?

If there is any sacrifice, ALL must be involved.
But some are more equal lah.

All aircrew accepted allowance including MP of 15000 monthly.Why must cut.Then suggest cut MP allowance first or stfu.
The difference is most skillsets including AED,being a nurse and different language proficiency including steps to abandoning aircraft.
Can the parttime buffet staff paid 10 hourly do that ?Aviation authorities worldwide will banned such Airlines from their airport,as Garuda from EEC till safety concerns are met.These are the differences as between a
trishaw ferrying tourists in Bkk patpong.With your dumb brain sell your assets and invite the prc bus captain to fly the plane you paid.I will be glad to follow you.

I refer to that low IQ comment comparing MP allowances! You think MP graduate from primary school? What skillsset are you smoking people?? Any buffet crew also can learn AED, bombastic plane languages, and abandon aircraft all for free on YouTube! Even best buffet crew will do the cabin job for half the salary.. so please don’t embarrass cabin crew further.

Buffet staffs have no or low entry and buffet type services cannot be done on board due to space constrain.How to stop pax for piling sky high portion as happen in some occasions.From stateside use taser or ex Sin local law applies.Buffet type of crews are based on cheapest cost of server versus highly trained haute cuisine and fine dining.Why must cost be encourage in Singapore to be lower than inflation which is 2 percent bearing in mind 9 % gst forecast.Must be idiotic to ask for lower wages and expect to pay high gst unless Cecadian and Myanmar and Third world workers are used.Half the time communication problems on board and nothing get done.Also pax must certified u tubed or rejected to board.Include naming of the parts of a/c include Cockpit is not toilet and toilet made prayer friendly by allowing washing of foot.Wages should go up not down.Dumber and dumber reruns or wolf of wall street ?Airlines should be run on strict standards and not by lowering cost which encourage crews to smuggling.Where do we want to be ?

Oh so those cabin crew who jump mock slides and keep doing SEP multilple choice exam questions before the SEP are thus differentiated from the banquet waiters ah?
All the bloody crew are nobodys and do not deserve 8k a month for klkk cbl. They should be made to do male or taipei turnaroinds everyday. 6 times a week for a maximum of 2.5k only. Thats what you shiy are worth only.

Lol what means u think crew are efficient in AED? when i go back for SEP training for first aid, most of the crew dont even know the proper steps, what to look out for before applying AED. cert is just for show only pls. GQ FQ crew, still got the nuts to add in additional language in their resume or instagram announce the world they so zhai, hello wake up its just basic worlds.

Ex - crew who managed to escape the false reality of crewlife

Agreed.When -in law need Aed,one say fake.But those close to me ans need saving,I try my best to say lives.
"GQ FQ crew, still got the nuts to add in additional language" in their resume or instagram",personal choice of knowledge.Can be usefull sometimes.

Pls enrol in an english course while you are in sq, otherwise you will be the one who is screwed, not me. hahahahahaha
