Let the crew armed themselves with guns and grenades etc
That will give the robbers a nasty surprise

Dont think robbery will stop. Can adept by going to shooting range in US,then use it in SA.All of them looks the same after crime, dark with curly hair.Looks like Ceca flight when cleaners help themselve to valuable of crew.Provide bullet proof vest also.Or give up SA flight alltogether.Next time wont miss, now a warning.Next time worst incidents like rape.

SQ should seriously considering giving up SA flights.

The crew should be disciplined for disobeying instructions NOT TO LEAVE the hotel.
They should not leave their rooms. After all the layover is very short.
They are well compensated with meal allowances.

Disobedient staff must be punished and made an example.
One more act of disobedience and they must be terminated.
Do not tolerate disobedience.
It costs the company image, money and time to deal with disobedience.

What's the point of NS if you cannot physically defend yourself? Weaklings!

It must be traumatic for the two crew involved and feel sorry for them. I was sure they didn’t wish this to happen.
I am not particularly referring to these two crew. This isn’t a one off incident. It is not uncommon to learn robbers are attracted to expensive watches such as Rolex and jewellery. SIA crew work hard and are paid very well. Please do yourself a favour, be sensible and be safe.

Yes, some excitement from dull rosters.

Unless one have the empty handed skills,it is better to comply or run away if one has the chance. Money and valuables can be earned back but not your lives when the assailant has a deadly weapon.
Better not go out in a big group as that would attract unnecessary attention in SA.
Dress down and always be situationally aware of your environment.
Always go with your intuition and if one feels exposed and unsafe in an environment, go with your gut feel and avoid the place.
Better safe than sorry.

Cheap hotel vs crew safety. Sia always choose money over crew safety. That's the fact.
