The A345 has dedicated cc who were paid 3x the normal ifa. They dont work nonstop but had undisturbed crew rest for as long as 4 to 5 hours on the flight. If not happy the complainant or the dedicated cc can opt out and fly the other aircraft types which do not make the crew fly for more than 18 hours. In a situation of AOG cc may step down so this big mouth ex fss is just trying to run SQ down.
Yup talk cock sing song.... fly 5 yrs complain so much. If you had been a crew 20 yrs ago then you'll know what hard work is and at half the salary you're talking about WITHOUT IFA. Those days including transit would be almost close to 14 hrs eg SIN/BKK/BAH. You're definately not suited for this job because part of the job is facing complaints that have nothing to do with you directly... Cheng Ho's batchboy

In a situation of AOG cc may step down so this big mouth ex fss is just trying to run SQ down.________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________My intention in bringing up the 345 fleet is NOT to discuss on my 3X IFA or the advantages/disadvantages of being a 345 crew, I just wanted to highlight the fact that we do work more 18hours on a regular basis and SQ is the only airline that allow the crew operate more than 18hrs according to world non stop flights ranking. Well, according to the black and white shown on Aircrew Rosters from the reporting time to the off duty time. We do work more than 18hours. The crew rest is our entitlement/CAAS requirements to prevent crew from being fatigue and to make sure we remain alert at all times esp during take off and landing. And just in case you are not sure (unlikely), pilots have the final say to step down or not during AOG/flight time exceeds FTL. Because cabin crew are only allowed to step down 1 hour after cockpit crew have stepped down. In such scenarios, the CICs can ask the entire set to sign a petition (which chances are/or during my flights we are being discouraged because we will get calls from the company to investigate.) And because I am very JUNIOR, unlike yourself (possibly) I am not able to overwrite the ranking crew and voice out. On a side note, if you genuinely feel that Crew Rest should not be accounted for the work/duty time, maybe you should write to the company that when you operate 12hrs-14hrs flight such as SIN/LHR or SFO/HKG your crew rest should not be accounted for your work/duty time so therefore you should not be entitled to the 2X IFA for the respective sectors. I am sure SQ will be more than happy to deduct the 2X IFA from your 21st pay. Maybe you could win $200 voucher for staff ideas in action too. ;)Thank you very much for the comment. You have proven me that leaving SQ was a right choice. PS: Honestly, I do not have intentions to run SQ down. Why would I? Any ex crew that have basic thinking&analyzing ability will have recognized the fact that our SQ working experience have proven that we have competitive advantage above all other job applicants/candidates. Because SQ is known as the World Renowned Airline. Maybe you are staying in the Airline forever so maybe it did not matter to you, but it is very important to crew that are ready for the better and more rewarding opportunities in the corporate world. I am sore with SQ, because I started out being very enthusiastic and passionate FSS. Not that I SOAR on all my flights, but I worked very hard and I never shortchanged my passengers during my 5 years of flying. And at least, people that I flew with worked very hard onboard too. We felt that cost cutting measures are impacting on the service delivery and pax satisfaction. And of course, because the company shortchanged our pax and we have to apologize on their behalf. That's part of the package. And because I didn't feel that our efforts are being appreciated, so I left. As for the Bull-shitting part, You could set up a fake email account so that I can email a copy of my payslip to you. In Corporate world, you work hard you will be rewarded and appreciated. In SQ, you work hard. You get countless CCDFs or Compliment letters. But it will not matter to them, you are still a Staff No. Maybe just a number with a slightly thicker file. Of course, if this is what you are looking for in life. That's awesome. That makes us different. Thank you for being different.

I don't know what is like 20years ago and I don't really care. Because in order to be successful in life, we have to look far and move forward with times & technology.Just like I didn't care about what is it like being a Crew 20years ago, you do not need to care how to look far and move forward with times. That makes us Different. Thanks for making a difference. It make us stand out. Back to if I were cut out being a Cabin Crew and to deal with complaints (that can totally be avoided due insufficient meals catered etc).You are right. I am definitely not suitable. So I QUIT. And what I really cannot face is not being appreciated for a company I stood up for and apologized for after facing the complaints. Because I have dignity. But for all that matters, I thank SQ for training my patience and threshold dealing with difficult people. And if not for SQ, I wouldn't have realized the differences working in Good Company and SQ.

When I said "SQ cabin crew does not work more than 18 hours in a stretch whereas some airlines work their crew till they almost drop dead" I meant SIA does not on a REGULAR basis roster cc to work such long hours like other airlines do. On the A345 it's a different matter altogether because the cc were dedicated crew on that fleet. Like someone rightly pointed out in the comment space cc could opt out of the fleet. But no one wanted to opt out because of the generous penalty payment.My dear ex-stewardess I like to thank u for ur participation in my blog albeit they were all complaints.
