Audrey Morris still remembers "SIA a great way to fly".

Polly, on behalf of my grandmother, Audrey Morris said...

Mr. Boh Tong, I am not sure if you still remember me. I flew from Singapore to London about 25 - 30 years ago with you at the helm. I was with my husband. I have always been afraid of flying and was so panicky throughout the entire flight.
I still remember you as the steward that was so patient with me during the flight, assuring me that everything was alright. You took so much care of me and husband.

My husband passed away about 5 years ago, and he still talks about you when I refused to take any flights and what a darling you are. Do you remember me? You delivered champagne to my frustrated husband and specially served me ice cream even after meal times when you found out that was my comfort food.

We took a picture when we landed. I will try to find the picture we took together and post it here if that is okay.

 Audrey Morris

I am typing this on behalf of my grandmother who has showed me the picture you took onboard the plane. I recognized you from your picture and she is so excited you are writing a blog. She's 73 this year!

We will continue to be readers. Stay healthy and continue writing!

Thank you.

It is true SQ does not have leaders or crew like Boh Tong anymore. BT,I supposed did not have to assure or comfort Ms Audrey Morris because I believe it was not his duty to do so. He was a checker on the flight and so the responsibility lied with his crew and yet he went out of his way assist the frightened Ms Audrey.
No one would know of the deed of BT's if not for Ms Audery's comment in the blog. Well done BT,old chap for you have made SQ proud!

Yes well done BT.

Good Job!

This is what I call Quality Service.

And a very "Grateful" customer.

Well how many of my bosses knew the good things I did for SQ when I was with them?
It's sad they did not recognize the good I had done.
My "weakness" was I spoke the truth and my bosses did not like it.

Like Harry S. Truman once said:
"I never did give anybody hell. I just told the truth and they thought it was hell".

I have sent in several cabin crew names for excellent inflight service on the feedback section on SIA website. Will the cabin crew get rewarded when a passenger gives compliment for a job well done? I hope the company will at least mention the positive feedback to them.

Boh Tong said...

The crew will be written to by SIA telling them you have complimented them.
No there is no tangible reward.
Thanks for taking time to compliment the crew. It will definitely inspire them to give more.

Well uncle Boh Tong, I'm also like you. I like to tell the truth to my bosses. :)
