Parents' love for their kids......

It is heartbreaking to have a son who is alleged to be a murderer. Yes I am talking about the Kovan double murder. The father was an ex-inflight supervisor with the airline. He was a nice chap who adopted a low profile while flying as a cabin crew. As far as most of us know, he did not indulge in activities like gambling or drinking. He was thrifty and could have saved a lot of money or even invested in a private property. Now, it looks like he has to cough up a lot of his hard earned money to pay for the 3 lawyers he has engaged to defend his son. I would do the same if I were in that situation as we undoubtedly love our own flesh and blood.
Painful as it may be, we would rather spend perhaps a  million bucks to get our son off the hook than to see him go to the gallows. That's the father's love!

There were other cases of crew's children who got in trouble with the law. An ex colleague's son was jailed and given 3 strokes of the cane for molesting a woman. Not long after the incident, this ex colleague was given the boot for something stupid he did to a passenger on his flight.

Then there were 2 cases of the crew's sons who committed suicide due to failed relationship (with some girls). Naturally, the parents were left to painfully mourn for the rest of their lives.

Now how about the children's love for their parents? I know of 2 cases whereby the children ditched their fathers who were not doing well financially during their retirement. One was a sick (ex IFS) and destitute old man. His children won't even pay for his medicine and hospital bills. He had to rely on the generosity of his friends. He didn't even have a place to live. Eventually he died in his friend's house. Mind you, his grown up children are drawing big bucks.

Another one , an abled bodied young son punched his father (a retired senior crew) for drinking too much. This ungrateful son is now in trouble with the law for being an accomplice of a loan shark.

Equally unfortunate for ex IFS Rex, he did not live to see his talented son who is now one of the top rappers in Singapore.
