Union chief hurriedly met management over "dog crisis"

Following the incident last Friday , cabin crew union chief Boh Beh Chow (BBC was born in the year of the Horse) who is known for his swiftness in tackling issues has hurriedly met management over the issue of granting compassionate leave to his members should their pets die or in critical condition. Pets would mean the following:

  • dogs
  • cats
  • rabbits
  • hamsters
  • terrapins
  • aquarium fishes
Being an animal loving company, SIA has agreed, at least in the interim to allow all its staff to take 2 days of compassionate leave a year for each pet up to a maximum of 10 pets.
It will sign the deal with Boh Beh Chow and amend the current collective agreement in the coming months.

When the president of the Animal Protection Society, Kow Peh Kow Bu was interviewed regarding the issue, Kow has this to say :  " SIA has over the years evolves to be an animal compassionate airline. It has refused to transport snubbed nose dogs like Shih Tzu and all breeds of Bull Dogs for the fear they may face breathing difficulty during flight. This is a dogmane gesture on the part of SIA.
I sincerely hope that one day, SIA will stop serving meats on all its flights. Better still, I hope SIA will one day be a vegetarian airline."

Reporters have tried unsuccessfully to contact ex SIA chief steward Raymond Wee, the founder of Noah's Ark, a shelter for strayed and abandoned dogs in Johore for his comment. Reason for not able to contact Raymond was due to lack of internet and wi-fi connectivity over at Noah's Ark.
