Norwegian Shuttle's cheap fare to London

Budget airline Norwegian Shuttle is charging S$199 for a one way economy flight (non-stop) from Singapore to London's Gatwick Airport. The inbound flight is S$320. The airline announced it will start the flight from 28 September this year on a 4 weekly flight. The premium seat will cost $839 one way. It will be using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
Premium airlines like BA charges an average of S$1,300 for a return trip to London and so is SIA. This is 2.5 times more than what Norwegian Shuttle's fare.
Sometimes, I wonder with the budget airlines cheap fares how in the world would SIA and other premium airlines survive?

It's never a good idea to fly budget for long distance because it's not very comfortable. Those traveling on business will still fly with full service airlines since their tickets are paid for by the company. Those traveling for pleasure may still opt for budget airlines if they really can't afford it.

Air France SIN-CDG-LHR vv
YCL = $1,000 all taxes paid 23kg
Premium Class = $2,000 all taxes paid 2X 23kg ( seat is in shell, no disturbance from
other pax getting in / out : 2-4-2 configuration.

YCL= $1,700, also 23kg but non stop... no big deal to transfer in CDG for $700 less.
can eat duck rice till lau sai.

Dont try the budget class for any sectors above 6hours... unless you weigh less than 60kg and have no money, with no intention to shop, etc.
It will be suicide. Ex crew should know better.

Even for a flight just under 2 hours, traveling economy, with budget airline is very uncomfy.Try KL-KCH or KL-KK. Malindo fans can disagree if they wish.

SQ flies non stop from SIN-LHR.
AF has to transit at CDG enroute to LHR

but the difference in Premium Class (EY) is huge!
Not sure if non stop is worth $1,300+ fare difference leh?

SQ is expensive... food wise, its not worth it or even inflight entertainment.
Nowadys bring your own (BYO) device with all the movies loaded.
Not crazy about chye tow kuay for breakfast... especially after paying $3K !!
