Japan is lenient with foreign airline crew

I refer to this case which the leading steward was let off leniently by the Japanese authorities. His "loot" was confiscated and he was barred from entering Japan for the foreseeable future. There were other cases too eg: a chief stewardess was arrested for shoplifting in Tokyo last year. The only penalty she received was a ban from entering Japan for a few years.
In London, the above crew would have been charged in court and fined. Different countries have different laws on such crimes.
In fact, the airline takes a more serious view of such misbehaviour which could tarnish its image. In most cases, the airlines would fire the crew concerned.

Dont waste taxpayers money by charging and
then holding in a jail, have to feed too.

Let the employer or the country of origin handle
They know SIN incorporated will apply 'chop-chop' method.
or else justice is delivered twice.
