SARS was a wake up call to be thrifty and spend wisely and not over spend (stocks, shares, private properties, some even have 2 cars etc).

Just hold for 6 more months or even less. Situation should stabilized with the vaccine coming into play. The sky will open again.
Meantime go for self employed kind of job to fill in the gap such as Rhyde. No license required except driving license.
Hold in there. Rainbow appearing at the horizon. Have some fun driving people around in Singapore in the meantime. Join the driving together with your airline buddies so that u can meet up everyday for coffee and discuss about the situation and work out a strategy.
Cheers.

Lesson learnt for everybody is not to have too heavy a financial commitment at anytime and to have some saving.

I look forward in flying with SQ soonest.

Correct, prudence is important.
Guess it is also very difficult to balance prudence in life bec there is a trade off.
