PPS ( Priority Passenger Service)passengers are SIA regular customers . PPS as we called them, are usually company executives or senior staff travelling on their companies' budgets. Some are rich individuals who can afford to pay,say about 5 times more than what an economy ticket would cost. Of course, a first class ticket would cost around 2 to 4 times more than a business class ticket. PPS are very pampered customers, to the extent that some of them think they own SIA.
There are those who would throw tantrums when they do not get their choice of meals/drinks or seats or their friends upgraded from the economy class or any damn desire of theirs. Some, would abused the crew verbally while others physically. Cabin crew had been called all kinds of names and their parents cursed. A few spoilt PPS brats would kick, punch, spit and assault the crew for little things. I bet you, when these asses travel with BA, UA, Qantas or any ang moh airlines, they suddenly become obedient and well behaved. But I have an advice for such paxs, bring your own food and drinks whenever you fly.

Japanese passenger's demand met??
Yes, Suzuki San had his request met, well part of it actually. Since he demanded for a jumbo jet, someone sent him a plastic model of a SIA B747....hahaha and guess what? SIA asked him to fly kite ( he was blacklisted by SIA).

SIA Japanese passenger demanded......
Some beverages were spilled onto Mr. Suzuki's shirt( not his real name). It was an accident, caused by bad weather during flight. The crew apologized profusely but this Japanese passenger wasn't satisfied. On arrival in Japan, SIA station manager met Mr. Suzuki and apologized and again the dumbass wasn't happy. A few days later, SIA GM Japan, visited Suzuki at his office and apologized. This ass**** demanded that he would only forgive SIA ,if he was compensated a pile of 10,000 yen notes ( about US$100 ) up to his height and plus a B747 aircraft. Can you beat that?

Rich Uncultured and Rude Passengers Who Need "Wee Shu Min'" Type Of Stewardesses
Oh, how true is the saying "it takes all kinds of people to make the world" and so are passengers. However, we don't need morons to fly with us and the flight would be a damn good one for all. If they do fly, then we should have more of "Wee Shu Min" type of SIA girls.
There are many wealthy Singaporean passengers who are f****ing rude, demanding and bullies. These people think the world of themselves....but they are a billion miles apart from passengers like Robert Kuok, Eric Chia, "Pak" and many others whom I will mention later on.
One of these morons,as a matter of "habit" would chuck the newspaper, page by page onto the floor after reading them, expecting the SIA "maids" to pick them up. His table manners are worst, spilling food and drinks on the floor and ordering the "maids" to clean them. Such degrading passenger really spoils your day. So what if they are rich? I rather have dignity and a good reputation than being rich and despicable.
The one "that" spat at a stewardess was also a Singaporean. He later on ,paid a few "peanuts" to the girl as a form of compensation. If Michael Fay, the American boy was caned for vandalism, this particular ass**** should be hung by the neck till Mr. Death takes him to hell.
I still remember a flight ,where one first class ang moh passenger abused the crew because he could not get a particular seat that he wanted .Another first class passenger by the name of Eric Chia (Datok Chia then) stood up the f***** the hell out of this big sized ang moh. The aircraft was still on the ground and Eric Chia told this ang moh if he was not happy, he ,Eric would buy over his seat. This incident happened in the full view of the other first class passengers and staff. Suddenly, that ass, meekly went to his seat and sat down. I supposed, he knew who Eric was.
There are and I am using "are" because there are still many dumbasses flying around, giving problems to the crew and other fellow passengers. Perhaps, I will go more into it a bit later.

SIA Girl Should be a little like Wee Shu Min.
In all my years of flying experience, I think what the SIA girl needs is a little of the "Wee Shu Min" characteristic in her. She, the SIA girl, has been abused, shouted at, insulted and even been spat at by passengers.
One dumbass Singaporean passenger spat at one of the SIA girls ,when the meal cart she was pushing, knocked into him. Another one punched a steward because he was in a bad mood.
There are many jackass passengers who think, by paying a small fare, they can make slaves out of the SIA boys and girls.
So,sometimes we need a few "Wee Shu Mins" around to kick the hell out of these big bullies.

IS SIA GOING TO BE LIKE YouTube?
Who really knows,SIA could be sold off too, just like YouTube, one of these days. The shareholders would make a fortune and start another airline to compete with SIA. Ever think of that?

Wee Shu Min again?...oh no!
The attack on Wee Shu Min has somehow subsided and thats a good sign.My advice to Shu Min is not to be an SIA stewardess ( as though she wants to). Be what you are Shu Min but listen to your dad. Be a little more diplomatic ,especially when are dealing with people through blogging or writing. Be nice and humble, just like dad whom I have met many times before( he is my MP leh) and you should do well in life.
Billionaire Mr. Robert Kuok....A Great Man, A wonderful passenger!
On the other side of the coin, I have also served extremely rich and polite passengers like Mr. Robert Kuok and his family members. Let me relate you a story about Mr. Kuok.
I was the cabin crew-in-charge of a flight Mr. Kuok was travelling. He was then our Chairman. After dinner, he came up to me and asked for permission to smoke his cigar at the Sky Lounge (it was a B707 a/c). The policy then was ,if there was no objection from the other first class passengers,he could smoke and obviously no one objected. But here, Mr.Kuok wanted my permission...."but you are the Chairman Mr. Kuok and you don't need to ask for a steward's permission" I told him. He replied in a serious tone,"you are the boss of the cabin and I need your permission, by the way please address me as Robert". I told him he could smoke his cigar and he smiled, thanked me,took his seat and puffed his cigar. What a gentleman he was.

Wee Shu Min ( now got SIA story again)
Let us be magnanimous and forgive Shu Min (as though she had done something very wrong) and move on. But then, judging by the postings on the internet many Singaporeans are still very upset with Shu Min. I think some of these S'poreans are an ugly lot. They are big bullies, all pouncing on a helpless girl who had apologised, been counselled and had her blog removed....what else would you want her to do? Kiss your ass?
Ok,ok ,let me digress a little ( my readers are getting fed up with all these Shu Min stuff) and tell you a story about a young upstart Singaporean who happened to be my business class passenger.
This gentleman, probably as young as my youngest child flexed his index finger and gestured me toward him and his two business associates in the cabin. "You call this champagne?....its rubbish, its flat" he yelled at me. I apologised and took away the glasses and went to the galley. I poured another 3 glasses of champagne from an opened bottle and served the young man and his associates. I stood there and as he sipped the champagne he gleefully told the other two that "this is more like champagne" and said "this old guy knows his job", referring to me. At that point of time, I feel like kicking his ass because the 3 glasses of champagne that I served were from the same bottle my crew had served them earlier.

YOU WANT WEE SHU MIN TO JOIN SIA??
If Wee Shu Min is a flight stewardess with SIA, she can't have much say let alone criticise. She would have been trained to be submissive and obedient to her passengers. Thats the reason why SIA passengers sometimes bully them...cos they got not much say at all..its always the "yes sir, yes sir. three bags full sir". But here, Wee Shu Min is NOT an SIA girl and that who? Derek Wee?...is not an SIA passenger. I know Shu Min is in a spot because of her dad who is an elected MP. Hey ,Mr Wee I am damn proud of your daughter ok!
Ms Wee Shu Min (Away from SIA news for a while lah)
What a national frenzy that is going on about Ms.Wee Shu Min's article? Whats wrong with us? We demand for freedom of speech but when someone else say something we disagree, we whack her. Come on guys, give the young girl a break. Ms Wee Shu Min was just airing her views and if you disagree with her ,challenged her. Well ,as for Ms. Wee Shu Min,why the apologies?, why remove your blog? You did not do anything wrong.
Shame on you guys ( perhaps ,I would have to remove my blog too after my comments) and grow up a little.

ROBBED IN ROME
Allan was a chief steward and his wife Alice, was a leading stewardess. They worked on the same flight and stopped in Rome for two nights (SIA has this couple flying scheme where married crew were rostered together)
Both of them love branded goods. They wore Rolex watches and carried LV bags to work and naturally this type of people became target for the robbers, thieves and criminals.
After a day of sightseeing in the Rome, they were back in the hotel by evening time, ate their dinner and went to bed.
When they woke up the next morning, they were shocked to find their two lovely and expensive Rolex watches, which were left on their bedside table, gone. Their money and the LV bags were also stolen. The room door was not even forced opened. It was a inside job, Italian style.
Allan told me they suspected some kind of gas was pumped into the room while they were asleep and probably that was the reason Alice and him woke up that morning with a drowsy feeling. The gas made them sleep so soundly while the thieves transferred the loots out of the room.
A police report was filed but nothing came out of it.

CONGRATS SIA!!!
SIA has again, for the 13th time in a row,won the Asian Wall Street Journal Award for being the "Most Admired Company" in Singapore. SIA is not only a great company but a great way to fly too.
SIA has also settled out of court with the last 2 crew who were badly injured during the SQ 006 crash in Taipei. It was a generous settlement and my guess is it would be in the region of $800,ooo to a cool $1million for each girl.

A tribute to Mr.Sutopo Yap or "Pak"...The most generous passenger of all time.
Believe it or not, Pak ,one of the richest men in Indonesia was the most generous SIA passengers of all time. He loved the crew, boys as well as the girls.Pak could not speak much English but we communicated with him in Hokkien, a Chinese dialect. He was a very humble man and extremely generous with the cabin staff. Pak never failed to treat the crew to big meals in expensive restaurants at outstation. After the meals,he would bring the whole set of crew, numbering 18 usually to either posh drinking places for drinks or to his hotel suite. It was common for Pak to tip hotel staff hundreds of dollars.
There was a room service boy who brought the drink orders for Pak and the crew and was tipped US$200. At first, the waiter thought Pak must have made a mistake but Pak told him..."Take and buy your family makan" ( makan is the Malay or Indonesian word for food)
It was common for Pak to fly the crew who nightstopped in LA to Las Vegas. Yes, the whole set of cabin crew. He would give a couple of hundred dollars to each crew to buy jackets for the boys and dresses for the girls.
Once the crew arrived at Vegas, Pak would hand over a packet containing cash to the senior steward to distribute them to the crew. US$500 for each crew was the norm but sometime it could be $1,000 each.
There were times when Pak did not get off at the same station where the crew nightstopped. It did not matter much to the crew because Pak would always hand over some cash to the crew-in-charged to give them to the crew to spend.
A crew once told me Pak slipped 2 pieces of a thousand dollar bill into his hand when this crew bid Pak farewell with a handshake during disembarkation.
When asked why was he so generous and kind to the crew, his reply was he admired the SIA cabin crew for being so hardworking, friendly and humble.
Pak always tell us of his humble beginning, his life as a coolie(labourer)and how deprived he was when he was a boy. His advice to the crew was always to remain hardworking, honest and most of all ,be humble.
Pak has since left this world but he shall always be remembered and loved by the crew who knew him.

HOLLYWOOD STARS.
During the course of my duty, I have met some real famous movie stars and singers eg. Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis,Janet Jackson, the late Teresa Teng and a couple of HK stars whom I was not a fan of.
Among the stars I met,Sly was the nicest. He was not very tall like you would think he is, from his movies...probably 5ft 7ins or about 1.7 m tall.Of course,he was good looking and well built. He had a gentle manner and jovial with the crew on the flight. Sly was a great passenger because he was able to make us comfortable serving him.The crew adored him.
Bruce Willis was just the opposite of Sly....grumpy throughout the flight..not friendly with the people around him. Perhaps, Bruce was tired on that long flight from LA to Singapore via Narita.
Janet Jackson was sweet and she was with her mother travelling from Narita to LA. The crew working in the first class section were given photos with her signature on them.
Terasa Tang was a modest and soft spoken passenger. She was quiet throughout the flight from Singapore to HK. Oh this was many years before her death.
I never met Sharon Stone but my colleagues had.I was told she once changed her blouse without her bra at the front of the cabin, oblivious to those around her. Well can we blame her when she had something to show?
Steven Seagull was another wonderful person. My colleagues had the privilege to serve him. He was understanding and nice to all the crew.
One inflight supervisor became a good buddy of Steve.
There were other lesser known stars and younger ones whom my younger colleagues were more acquainted with.

Pilots who were nasty to cabin crew.
My sympathy goes to the cockpit crew who were nasty to the cabin staff because at one time or the other these people would have had their food "spiced" or their steak "grilled" on the aircraft floor. Drinks were served with saliva or "spit" as one would call it.
I, personally knew of a few cockpit crew who would bring their own food and drinks on board the flight.
There was a captain who brought food samples served to him by the cabin crew to the lab. for tests. This particular captain was a real pain in the ass and he pretty well deserved the treatment by the cabin staff.
Some cockpit crew "look" down on cabin crew and treated them like slaves. They usually treat the stewardesses, especially the prettier ones, better . The junior stewards or as we called them galley stewards were badly treated and they were usually the ones who handle the food and drinks.
Take my advice, no matter who you may be and in the words of a first class passenger..." don't mess around with the food handlers".

Some "happenings" about the SIA stewards also.
Heard of the London "Bakery"case? Maybe most of you have not. Well, some 20 over years ago there was a big case concerning a white British girl who literary "lived" in the London crew hotel with the stewards. This girl was a minor,a teenager. She ran away from her parents' house and stayed with the male crew. She was the crew's "property" because they fed her, slept with her and even gave her pocket money. She hung around with various stewards until one day the London police came knocking at a steward's hotel door. There, they arrested 2 brothers (stewards) with the minor.
The authorities wanted to charged the stewards with kidnapping and raping the girl but somehow they could not proved that the 2 stewards were guilty of any wrongdoings. In fact, the young girl told the police the crew had been very kind to her.
The girl's parents wanted to sue SIA over the incidence but there again their lawyers couldn't proved any misdeed on the part of SIA or it stewards.
The was an internal discipinary inquiry at the SIA office back in Singapore but the 2 stewards were cleared off any misconduct.
The younger of the 2 brothers have since been retired while the older one is still with SIA.
Now, the actual story was the guys did have "fun" with the girl and she liked it.Although she was a minor, she looked like she was in her twenties, beautiful and matured. Well, what would one expect? Guys being guys, so.......I will leave it to your own imagination.

The less fortunate Singapore girls .....
Mind you there were SIA stewardesses who were not so fortunate like the ones you would have read in the newspapers....the stewardess who threw her "karang guni" lover's daughter from a highrise building in Singapore, another one who stole from her friend's house to pay for her gambling debt,a Taiwanese SIA stewardess who was mudered by a steward in LA, a Japanese stewardess whose husband was apprehended by the authories in Singapore for posing as a bogus doctor working in Toa Payoh Hospital, yet another stewardess who was caught smuggling a few hundred thousand dollars worth of gold bars into Katmandu and jailed there.....oh so many more stories I can relate ....so stay tune to this page and I will keep writing and posting...later mate.
