"How I became a Gay"..by Danny
This is a story told to me by a gay crew. We had coffee during one of our night stops in Copenhagen,in my hotel room with nothing much to do because it was snowing outside. The temperature outside the hotel was about -5C and with that kind of weather,it was best we stay indoor, watching TV or sleeping ( by yourself or better still with a nice looking Danish girl or a stewardess..hahaha)or chit chatting with your friends or colleagues. Well,it was not that I had much of a choice except that Danny my in flight supervisor had invited himself to my room for a chat.
I didn't regret having Dan in my room because I later on had the opportunity to listen to his story about how he was 'converted' to being a gay. It was some sort of confession by him and from the time he started the revelation and to the end,I could see his eyes beaming with pride. He told me he was proud to be a gay and never regretted for a moment.
As I sat on my chair sipping my coffee, Dan began confiding in me how he was a normal guy when he first joined the airlines. He was just like most of the male crew looking for pretty and available stewardesses and female passengers to "bed" with. In fact,he had a 'regular' girlfriend in Bangkok, where the crew night stopped and would shower her with money and gifts whenever he visited her. In fact,Dan had planned to marry her.
It was during one of the London night stops when Dan invited a Caucasian male passenger,Tony, whom he had befriended on his flight.
Tony was a young handsome guy with sparkling blue eyes.He was nice and polite with the crew serving him on his flight and had won the praises and hearts of the stewardesses. One of the stewardesses had confided in Dan she would not mind having a date with Tony but Tony did not pay much attention to her. Instead,Tony was most of the time chatting with Dan whenever Dan could spare the time.
During this stop in London,Tony paid Dan a visit in his hotel room. They went out to the pubs had a few stout and beer and later after dinner adjourned to a show at Piccadilly. In a matter of a few hours, they seemed to get to know each other better than before. In the aircraft,it was more difficult to chat freely.
By midnight,Dan and Tony were back in the hotel room. Dan invited Tony to spend the night in his room since it was late for Tony to travel home.
Before Dan could even changed into his pajamas, the impatient Tony caught hold of Dan and kissed him on his mouth.
Dan confided in me,that the kiss from Tony gave him a wonderful sensation that was different from the one he got from his Thai girlfriend. It was indescribable but sexually beyond words,he told me in the Copenhagen hotel room.
From that day onwards,he never look back and never regret for one moment he was a gay.
Dan was with Tony for a while and then changed partner after a few months. Dan later on was involved with another Caucasian guy by the name of Ted. All along,Dan had only Caucasian boy friends.
A few years later,on the persistent nagging from his mother, Dan was matched make to a woman who he later divorced after the death of his parents. He has a daughter who is now in her teens and living with her Mom.
During his married life,he had affair with men too.
Today, Dan is in his fifties and due for his retirement soon.
The thing that shocked me in my Copenhagen hotel room that day was when Dan confessed to me he had an 'eye' for me and he wished I would have been his boyfriend. However, that was many years ago but I told him that it was wishful thinking for I am happy for being what I am.

A visit to a Kathmandu Monastery
On one of our Kathmandu flights,we were privileged to serve the chief Abbot of a monastery in Kathmandu.
He was a fascinating man,no airs about himself, travelled first class and had steak and champagne for dinner. He was dressed in his saffron clothes.
His steak diet puzzled the crew but he noticed it. He explained to the crew about the meat dinner part. Not all Buddhist monks were vegetarians he told us. Some Tibetans monks did eat meat due to circumstances. There were very little veggies grown in Tibet especially during the cold winter months and the people had to live on meat in order to survive.
During our night stop in Kathmandu, he invited the whole set of cabin crew to his monastery which was at the top of a hill.He dispatched three 4-wheel drive to pick us from our hotel.
The pictures above were similar to his place and we regretted for not bringing our cameras along with us during our trip. We had lunch, cooked by his staff and to be honest,it wasn't that yummy...oops ..Sorry Reverend.....
His place was also a orphanage and he had about 200 orphans staying at his monastery. The Reverend was a kind elderly man with good humour. He spoke perfect English.
While we were at his place which was luxurious by local standard, the prince of the Kathmandu was also present.
Here,we crew would like to say "thank you" to the Reverend again and hope everything is fine with him and his monastery and orphanage despite of the recent political turmoil there.

Anne,the calender girl...continued here.
Naturally,Aaron was brokrenhearted. He didn't realised Anne was having an affair with Wilfred and the news shocked him. Aaron attempted suicide on a number of occasions.
Meanwhile, Wilfred had swindled a foreign bank in Singapore to the tune of US$10 million( we could not verified the actual figure) and fled with Anne to Taiwan at first and later ended up in the USA.
Anne and Wil now had the means to spend real big. After leaving Taiwan, they headed for Las vegas. Wil gambled like mad and against all odds, made a fortune on the Black Jack table.
How Wil won money on the tables was anyone guest. Did he cheat the casinos? We don't really have the answers. He could have cos he was a cheat too.
After being tired of Vegas, the couple moved to San Fanscisco and started a business there. The business lost money and the Mafia, with whom Wil had done business with was all out to get their money back. There was a time when the Mafia people went to Wilfred's office and sprayed bullets to scare him off.
Finally, the money matters with the Mafia was settled and the couple left for Brazil to seek refuge from the Laws here,in Singapore.
Today,Wilfred is old and sickly and Anne had left him for a younger man.

Anne,the calender girl.
To be a model or a calender girl for SIA, a stewardess has got to possess beauty, charm and a good work record.
Singapore Airlines does not engaged professional models to do it's commercial. So all those girls you see on TV,YouTube, magazines, newspapers etc in SIA commercials were flight stewardesses.
I could think of 2 main reasons why SIA uses its stewardesses in its commercial.
First,SIA is proud of its girls and second, its for economic reason.
Flight stewardess Anne,a Malaysian was one girl that fit the bill. She was young, pretty, bubbly and charming. Her work record was excellent.
On many occasions she outbid the other girls and acted in TV commercials for SIA. Anne had a way with her seniors who were mostly male. She flirted with them and won favours from them. With her kind of beauty and charm, there was always a beeline of guys from captain down to the most junior steward waiting to take her to bed. But,mind you,it wasn't as easy as you think for Anne was a clever and cheeky girl who liked to tease the guys with kisses and hugs and the kind of 'CFM' stares but rarely let you bed her. She was a 'cock teaser' to put it crudely.
After getting tired of teasing the male crew, she fell in love with one of her batch boys,Aaron and decided to get engaged to each other.
Aaron was an innocent young steward. His objective in life was to be a rich man and he worked very hard and saved almost every cent he earned. He wanted to provide his future wife and children the best he could ever afford. He wanted to be a successful businessman.
Anne admired Aaron's qualities and principles in life. She also like his innocence and good looks.
As their marriage date was approaching, after a flight,Aaron found a note on their bed from Anne telling him that she had eloped with another man. She had packed and ran away with Wilfred,a passenger of the airlines.
Wilfred was a conned man,one with looks and gift of the gab. He didn't have a job and he made his living by lying and cheating people and organisations. In a way,he had also conned Anne and won her over....to continue.

Classic lies the crew told
- An Indian Fss took several days of mc (medical leave),went back to India and not only attended her friend's wedding but be a bridesmaid as well.
- Another Indian girl took mc in Delhi where she night stopped, extended her stay by 2 nights and invited her relatives and friends to party in her hotel room ( expenses like meal allowances, night stop allowances, hotel room bill for the extra 2 nights paid by the company)
- A few Indian Fss bought mc from bogus doctors in India and some got away with it while others were discovered by the company.
- One Indian trainee who couldn't cope with the training in S'pore came up with the story that her mother had a heart attack in Delhi, begged the bosses and left for home, never to return again. Bond couldn't be recovered by SIA.
- Mcs were taken on the pretext of being sick or unable to work due to menstruation at overseas stations were common. The best part was these crew were paid extra allowances ( In Europe it could amount to US$100 a day) and the co. foot the hotel bill for the extra days stay ( about US$ 200 a day in London for example). Moreover, consulting a doctor at outstations is very expensive and the " poor " rich company paid for it.
- A Chinese Fss took more than a week mc in Beijing and went for an abortion.
- Another one took mc to get married back home.
- One married Chinese fss lied to the ROM(registry of marriage)in Singapore that she was single and wanted to register her marriage with my ex colleague. Our ROM officers were suspicious and refused to marry them. ( Purpose of getting married to a Singaporean was a shortcut to obtaining Singapore permanent residence).
- An Indonesian fss absconded from her stewardess post with a domestic airline and got a job with SIA ( she was under bond at that time with the domestic airline).
- A flight from Cairns (SIA has since stopped flying to Cairns)flew back with a shortage of 2 fss because they fell "sick" and had 2 days of mc.Their boy friends were in Cairns to "care" for them...again all expenses paid for by the company.
- A steward was caught issuing himself with mc and forging company's doctor signatures. He stole a booklet of mc from the clinic.
- At least 5 crew were sacked when they were caught illegally transporting goods to Jakarta for a local company in Singapore. ( A local co. called "House of C..." was under investigation from IRAS for tax evasion and officers discovered the "transaction").
- Smuggling? Quite a number of crew had been apprehended by the authorities. Please refer to my earlier entries.
- There many more cases but I think what I have mentioned will sufficed for the time being.
Of course, the above were only those cases that came to my mind this morning. There were many more cases of lies and abuses by some of the crew.
I believe SIA had rectified and tied up most of the loopholes to reduced the above from happening.
However, please, please note the above are only a fraction of the 7,000 cabin crew SIA has. I would say 90% of the cabin crew are honest, conscientious and loyal employees which include the Chinese,Indonesian and all other foreign crew.

How to pass your interview and conduct yourself as a cabin crew trainee.
This year's bonus for SIA staff is 6.07 months and everyone is smiling. The company has done extremely well and we hope it will continue to do so.
The usual practice of the crew (for those who had intended to quit)is to resigned after receiving the bonus which is paid on the first week of July and December.Any staff or crew who leaves the company before July would not be given the bonus.
The crew turnover rate is high especially after the bonus handout. They quit for various reasons. Some leave for further studies while others leave for better paying jobs. There are also other reasons like stewardesses wanting to start families and some quit because they are tired of flying or for health reason.
With a few hundreds leaving after the receipt of their bonuses,SIA has to replace these crew. The company has already done its homework and had already recruited and trained its crew.
The reasons for the frequent recruitment of cabin crew is to replace those who had quit and also for the increase in flight frequencies and expansion.
So to those cabin crew wannabes,I have this to say: As long as you are qualified for the job, there are lots of vacancies waiting to be filled. If you are unsuccessful once or twice before keep on trying.
Many cabin crew wannabes have asked me this question: "Is there an age limit?"(SIA does not state the age limit in its ads) My answer is, there is an age limit although its not stated in the recruitment ads. There is an unofficial age limit because one can't expect the company to recruit an old fellow like me to be a flight attendant even if I were to looked 30...hahaha.
The next question was:"What is the unofficial age limit then?" Well if it is unofficial then it is not official and I won't know, would I? Unless I am an interviewer,I wouldn't know, really. Following this, their next question was:"You claimed you spent umpteen years with SIA and had conducted numerous interviews, surely you can roughly tell us the age limit?" Hmmm...yes I can only guess and it is a calculated guess, since I had been with SIA for 35 years,hmm...29 years for guys and a few years younger for the girls...perhaps 26.
Hey hey...please be reminded that its my guess only and I can be wrong. No one really knows the answer except the current cabin crew management staff which includes the interviewers.

If you survived the interviews and eventually becomes a trainee flight attendant or cabin crew, you need a few points to observed and practise during the 4 months of rigorous training at cabin crew training center.
A small percentages of trainees do not make it to the graduation. Some got booted out because of misconduct while a small minority failed their exams repeatedly.
The following are guidelines which may help you weather through the tough training and eventually let you graduate as a member of the cabin crew family:
1)Be polite and courteous at all times.
2) Smile and greet anyone and everyone whom you meet, including the cleaners.
3) Groom yourself properly , be neat in your attire and conform to the rules regarding dress code eg. guys should wear pants and long sleeves shirts with neckties. Girls are allowed dresses and pant suits.
4) Do not colour your hair or wear tattoo that can be seen. For the guys, forget about wearing earrings.
5) Be active in the classrooms by participating and volunteering in assignments ,role plays, keeping the classrooms clean or anything as instructed by your instructors.
6) You should try and get along with all your batch mates and be in your instructors' good books.
7) Never be rude or argue with your instructor even if you have a MBA and he does not.
8) Do not gossip about other people or ridicule anyone.
9) Always be punctual.
10)Make sure you pass all your exams.
11) Above all, always heed your instructors' advice.
The training center would tolerate if you are a slow learner but not arrogance, rudeness or one with bad or negative attitude.
Remember that the airline wants crew who are pleasant,courteous,conscientious,efficient,well-groomed and one who accord respect to passengers, fellow colleagues, members of the public and all other good qualities one can think of.

Wise or Stingy?
Someone just asked me whether it was possible that an SIA steward flying for 3 years could save up to 100K? My answer was yes and quite a number of crew had done it.
An example told to me by a crew:
Take home pay per month is about $3,500 and bonus is $600 ( average per month)= $4,100 per month. Assuming he lives with his parents and hand them $300 and spends $500 on himself (of course he is unmarried),he would save $3,300 per month and in 3 yrs it would amount to $118,800.
This steward was frugal in his spending. He did not spend much on food even at outstaions. He brought his own food like instant noodles, canned food like sardines, luncheon meat etc. and bread. He would eat aircraft food just before landing and saved the cost on one meal. He would do the same when he boarded the flight home ie. ate as much as he could before take off and during the flight. Sometimes he would sneak aircraft food into his hotel room and his entertainment would be watching tv and window shopping.
Some of the pilots did the same thing and they could even saved three times more than a cabin crew(for unmarried co pilot) and that means 350k in three yrs.
I have a few ex colleagues who owned houses that are fully paid years ago. Some of them own properties in places like Australia,New Zealand,USA,Europe,South Africa,Malaysia etc.
One thing for sure,if you have a colleague like that steward or pilot,it's no fun at all.

Robert Kuok, one of my favourite VVIP Passengers.
Secret of His Success(Robert Kuok) Source: Asiaweek Power50
When asked this, Kuoks aides will invariably say: “Mr Kuok is a true gentleman. He has the power to make his opponents yield willingly, and is a genuinely amicable man. And he makes it a personal effort to ensure that all his employees embrace this ‘gentlemanly’ way of conducting business.” Kuok’s gentlemanly ways are also well-recognised among his peers. He has many a time bailed out his contemporaries in distress, and furthermore, he does not seek the limelight, preferring to live a life of thrift and simplicity, winning him accolades and admiration near and far.
From a Malaysian:
Well done to Malaysians with those Billions. To Robert Kuok, I appreciate your loyality to Malaysia. You are an example of 'kacang tak lupa kulit'. I remembered the day you visited us in Sabah some 8 years ago. You spoke fluent Malay with me to the surprise of my Chinese colleagues. I also remembered when you turned down my offer to arrange for you the VIP lounge at Sandakan airport. I wonder how many other super rich Malaysian behave this way.

The Angels of Taipei
In the late 1960s and the 70s,the scenarios were the same in Taiwan as in South Korea. The countries were ruled by the military and curfews were imposed nightly from dusk to dawn.
The Taiwanese and the Koreans especially the younger ones were trying to flee the countries and seek freedom elsewhere.
Life in these sort of places were harsh and one could be sentenced to be executed by the firing squad for petty crimes.
So we stewards were looked upon by the young girls of those countries to be potentials savior husbands.
I have blogged about the situation in Seoul and it's not much of a difference here in Taipei. The difference here was the Taiwanese people and we Singaporeans could conversed in Mandarin or Hokkien which was and still is the main dialect of the Taiwanese. In Korea,we were a little lost because we could not speak Koreans.
Quite a number of the crew married Taiwanese wives in those days. But today, the story is different again. The Taiwanese girls do not depend on having foreign husbands to leave their country.
In the late 1960s,we crew used to stay at the Mandarin Taipei,a plush hotel in those days. Not sure whether the same hotel is still there. Heard the last time it was partially destroyed by a fire. We crew loved that old Mandarin because it was one of the best hotels the airline (MSA or the now defunct Malaysia Singapore Airline) had ever let us stay.
The staff in the Mandarin were very pleasant and friendly people. The security guys were very helpful and nice to us.
The hotel guests were strictly not allowed to bring local girls to their rooms but somehow, the security people always closed an eye to us. We could bring girls back to our rooms even in the night.
The trick to hook the local girls was to visit the shops like in Seoul during the days or in eating outlets and make a date with them. The moment they heard we were airline crew and staying at the Mandarin, the girls would turn hysterical. They would give all kinds of excuses to their parents, boyfriends etc just to visit us and spend the night with us.
Please forgive me here, you nice Taiwanese people as well as Koreans. I do not mean to belittle your girls but that was a fact of life in those days, under a repressive government. Off course,Taiwan and South Korea are fully democratic countries now.
There were crew who would not go for the decent type of girls, knowing their motives but instead used the services of paid professionals. It was inexpensive to engage the services of this type of girls. The charges were anywhere from $20 to $40 a night in the hotel room with the crew client.
There was no fear of AIDs in those because there was no such a thing. The girls were generally "clean" because they were not so exposed to many men with VDs.
There was a Caucasian captain who usually engaged the services of two girls to take care of his sexually needs whenever he night stop in Taipei. There was a rumour that this particular captain once sent his female companion to a local hospital unconscious by an ambulance after "overstretching" the poor girl all night.

This Amazing fan of mine
Today,I had an appointment with a fan of mine, yes a visitor who regularly visits my blog. No no its not what you think because its a "he" and not a "she".
Many advisers would tell you to be wary of people you meet over the net. They could be this and that and at the end you might even end up being robbed or conned or in the case of a lady, might be raped and so on.
This relatively young gentleman is about 31 yrs old and is a Singaporean.Guess what?
He is a multi millionaire with vast business interests in food court, hawker stalls, boats, bicycle shops, drink stalls at popular outlets etc.
I do not want to name him because he is a "private" person and I have not asked his permission to blog about him. Damn,I just can't resist blogging about him. Sorry buddy for blogging about you here and if you read this blog please forgive me....no,no I won't divulge your name.
Lets call this young entrepreneur,Alex OK? Yup today was my second time meeting him and had lunch with him.
After lunch,he brought me to a meeting where he discussed business with people who were much older than him. Gosh! he was really good at convincing people to do business with him.
Well I won't say much at this juncture until I obtain the green light from him to go on blogging more about him.
He is one clever guy who let his trusted lieutenant run his businesses for him so he would lots and lots of free time to have coffee with his friends almost everyday. I am lucky to have met Alex whom I think is already a very successful young businessman.
From the conversations with him over lunches and coffee,I estimated Alex is worth at least $7 million bucks!...Wanna get to know him?
Hey I am invited to meet another of my overseas fan who will be in Singapore sometimes next week or so. This time it is going to be a "she",yes a young lady of 20 years, pretty and sexy.
BTW to those critics out there (refer to the comments on my recent post),this boh tong is not fantasizing ok....aiya no need to fantasize lah....BT goes for the real thing hehehe.

The Gingseng Girls of South Korea.
In the late 1960s and 70s,South Korea was ruled by marshal law.The regime was a no nonsense and restrictive one and few of its citizen could have easy access to exit visa which was required to travel overseas.
When the our airlines stop at Seoul, the capital of South Korea, the crew would spend a few nights there.
It was boomtime for the male crew to stop in Seoul. The Korean girls were as pretty as ever, with beautiful soft silken tofu liked skin. Many of the Korean girls were friendly with the male crew, especially the ones at the ginseng shops.
To pick up a Korean girl, one only had to visit the gingseng shops and on the pretext of buying gingseng, could date them out.
The trick was to bring these gingseng girls out for a late dinner, bring them back to the hotel rooms and for sure they would spend the night with you.
Why would they sleep in your hotel room with you? The reason was,the nightly military curfew would start from 12 midnight and no one was allowed to on the street until after 6 am.
Besides, the Korean girls,in those days looked for foreign husbands.By marrying foreingers, they could travel out of the reculsive nation and see the other side of the world. They could also settled down in the countries where their husbands were from.
The stewards and pilots from our airlines were in great demand in South Korea at that time.
Today, with full democracy in South Korea, the present young Korean girls are different from their 1960s and 70s counterparts. We do not know what are they looking for these days, certainly not our stewards or pilots. Marrying a foreigner is no big deal nowadays because they have the liberty like all democratic countries,to travel anywhere they want to without an exit visa.

David's strange girlfriend
David was just an ordinary flight steward, humble and reserved sort. He started flying when he was barely 21,just completed his college education. Being paid $2,500 a month as a flight steward wasn't that bad a salary. He could hardly get a job that paid him $2,000 a month outside of his flying job. So being a cabin crew was all he looked for. Besides, the good pay,David was entitled to perks like free tickets to everywhere the airlines flew to every year, bonuses, free transport to work and back, stayed in 5 star hotel during his layover at outstations.
On a flight back to S'pore from Australia, while serving beverages during the meal service,David accidentally spilled coffee onto a lady passenger's dress. David panic and apologised profusely to Dolly and wiped her dress with a towel. The spot where the coffee had spilled was somewhere on Dolly's thigh. While,David was wiping Dolly's dress, she was quietly enjoying the soft touches of David's on her thigh. She could smell the sweet peppermint breath and the shampoo on David's hair and boy,Dolly was sexually thrilled.
Dolly had never felt like this before, this kind of reassuring and sensuous feeling that David gave her. Was it love at first sight or was it lust at first touch? Dolly couldn't understand but one thing for sure, her pantie was soaking wet.
To David,as he was cleaning the spot on Dolly's dress,he too felt sexually aroused. Why not? A young man who's imagination sometimes would run wild now imagined he was caressing a stunningly beautiful lady passenger's thigh in his hotel bed.
This caressing and cleaning job went on for a good 3 mins and not before an air turbulence sent David crashing onto Dolly's arms. Again it was a "bonus" to David to fall onto a lady passenger welcoming arms.
The air turbulence was so bad that the capt. came on the PA and ordered the cabin crew to suspend the meal service and grab the nearest seat to them and fastened in.
It was another golden opportunity for David to be seated next to Dolly and she didn't mind at all.
David and Dolly started to get acquainted with with each other and by the time the air turbulence had ceased and time for David to get back to work, they both had exchanged their phone numbers.
A few days after that flight,Dolly and David met each other at a cafe in S'pore for lunch after which they adjourned to David's apartment.
After a couple of drinks,David and Dolly were in each other's arm, kissing and stripping each other off their clothes. From the sofa in the living room,David carried the naked Dolly to his bed. They made love like never before and David discovered Dolly to be an excellent lover. In fact,Dolly was so experienced in love making that he could make the young David hold back his urge to ejaculated prematurely. Their love making went on for almost an hour. Dolly had multiple orgasm and it was so satisfying.Dolly then skilfully made David ejaculate and with that both of them fell asleep on David's bed.
David and Dolly became a nice compatible couple and were planning to get engaged in a couple of months. Yes Dolly was a little older than David, perhaps by 2 to 3 years.
Meanwhile after 2 months of courtship,Dolly moved into David's apartment. They were a loving couple, much to the envy of their neighbours and fellow crew members.
One day when David was cleaning his apartment he found a strand of a man's grey hair on his other room pillow. He became suspicious as there was no man friend or relative of his ever stay at his place. All kinds of thoughts filled his suspicious mind. He was not at home most of the time due to his job. David spent at the most 15 days in a month, at home. Dolly occupied the apartment all the time except that when she was working during the daytime as a "sales girl" at some clothing shop.
David decided that he would not confront Dolly over the matter and as usual kept his cool and be as nice to Dolly as before.
A few days after David's discovery,he decided to hire a private detective to find out more about Dolly's movement especially when he was away on a flight.
It didn't come as a surprise when the private detective reported to David about Dolly's activities.
She was seen bringing back men to their apartment, one at a time almost everyday and night, reported the private eye. These men were mostly in their 40s and 50s and looked quite well off, driving Mercedes,BMWs and Jaguars
Finally, the day came when David could not take it anymore and so confronted Dolly over the matter.
When David confronted Dolly, she kept silent all the time and in between sobs, she confessed she was a prostitute. She pleaded with David to forgive her and not to leave her for she knew she did the wrong thing.
Dolly in between tears told David of her poor paralysed aged mother who could not support her two other siblings.
Dolly as an elder child had to shoulder the responsibility of supporting the family and putting the younger siblings through colleges. Her father had died when she was a child and her mother had worked hard as a washerwoman to help the family. A few years ago, Dolly's mother suffered a stroke and became paralysed.
Dolly did not have much education and hence could not get a good paying job.Her assets were her beautiful sexy body and a pretty face and she was good at what she was doing. There were many proposals from her rich middle age clients who were willing to keep her as their mistresses. She would have had been paid anywhere from 10k to 20k a month by just being a mistress and quitting her profession. But she refused all that because she did not want to belong to any man except David.
David after listening to Dolly's explanation believed her story and decided to carry on their relationship.
How David wished he could help Dolly financially so she could quit whatever she was doing but he could not as he too was drawing a salary that was barely enough to help her aged jobless and penniless parents.
Dolly asked David to let her carry on her work for the next two years until all of her siblings had graduated from their colleges. David consented and they continued their relationship as though nothing had happened.
After Dolly's siblings had graduated and started working,Dolly kept her promise to David and left her job as a prostitute.
Today,David and Dolly are happily married with 3 kids and have settled down in Australia, running a little sandwich joint of their own.

I was at a SQ forum and ......
I recently visited a forum where quite a number of its members are SIA PPS (priority passenger service) passengers. These are passengers who had flown a certain number of miles and sectors and are accorded the title PPS by SIA (Singapore Airlines)They enjoy privileges ranging from more check in baggage, spending limitless hours in SIA lounges to being given free tickets etc. They are considered as regular customers and highly valued by the airline.
I have blogged about these passengers earlier on (Oct 2006),about their behaviour towards the airline and the cabin crew. I had also mentioned that these "ugly" PPS were in the minority, thankfully.
My reason for visiting the said forum was because I found through my "active meter" which I installed on my blog that there was a sudden surge of visitors coming from that forum.
A member of that forum found my blog and brought it to the attention of fellow members. The topic they were talking then was "PITA (pain in the arse)PPS passengers from the staff view point".
Many of them were appalled by the behaviuor of fellow PPS and critised them, calling them PITA PPS.
Well, when I came to the forum and introduced myself as the blogger of the "Cocky PPS" article, they welcomed me to the forum and we exchanged views.
Many of the forum participants were nice and gentlemantly toward me except one or two of them.
These few PPS who critisiced and ridiculed me still behaved as though I am still a steward serving them in the airplane.
To cut a long story short, the moderator of the forum felt that I had issued a "rather thinly veiled personal attack" and decided to lock/close the topic.
I reproduced below a copy of the discussion we had in that forum:
A member said "i'm sorry if this post is going to kill the "good vibe" of this thread, but I do believe in an "honesty is the best policy" mantra. Boh tong, I find your blog to be contradictory, salacious, and marginalized tabloid fodder. You make broad generalizations about PPS members in your blog, and write with the spirit of a harlequin romance novelist. Some of the things you write about have not been fact-checked at all: the ghost on the SQ06 flight blog is filled with multiple errors. You also discuss things that are crude and crass and leave much to be desired for an aspiring author. Maybe others here are going to line up and buy your book, but I must admit, that I certainly won't be one of them. Thank you for the sharp change of course you have displayed on the ..... forum- I do wish you would have taken the time to more adequately acknowledge the good PPS customers that make Singapore Air such a special airline, as opposed to just lumping all of them in with a selected minority that believe their card entitles them to behave in a crude and crass way. Unfortunately, the contents of your blog put you on the same level of the people you are criticizing."
My reply:
The SQ 006 post was Not mine.It was picked up from the internet and I post it on my blog so people who are knowledgeable about the SQ006 incident would come out and refute the story. That's my purpose and sure enough there are crew who has pointed out the discrepancies of the story.
I am not going to waste my time arguing with you because you know better than me whether my are stories are true or not.
Read for yourself what is the general opinion of the crew regarding paxs. I am just being frank but I have alway said here and in my blog there are nice paxs and bad ones too. Just like in this forum there are more who are honest and sincere enough to agree with me that one who is like you who said all the unkind things about me.
I do not aspire to be an author otherwise I would get an editor to edit my blog for me. It was just that a publisher had approached me.
My sincere apology to all here but just in case some still think that I am a steward they are Very wrong. SIA may stand for "Sir I Apologise" but Boh Tong( my name) stands for " But Over Here Terrorising's Over N Gone"
But cheers to all those well meaning and courteous ladies and gentlemen of...
Another Passenger member refering to my earlier blog regarding my mention and praises for MM Lee and Mrs.Lee,Billionaire Robert Kuok,Professor Tommy Koh,the late Tun Mustapha, the late ex Chief Minister of S'pore David Marshall and many more whom I personally served when I was with SIA took great offence, has this to say:
"boh tong, i'm just curious as to why, having served these pax with distinction and discretion, you now feel it is appropriate to post, blog and discuss them on the public internet"
"boh tong, what I am suggesting in all seriousness and due respect, is that there was an expectation of privacy and discretion during your time with SQ. Now that you are duly retired, is there a reason why these individuals are no longer accorded their privacy?
To add, some of these individuals you have identified are not celebrities who court publicity. They are merely people who, by virtue of their jobs, actions or financial wealth, you deem as "blog"-worthy.
I personally find that a little troubling.."
My reply:
My apology if you find my revelation of these people's exemplary behaviour "troubling". I meant it as a compliment to these great people and I always believe I rather give them a bouquet now than when they are long gone.
If they are troubled by what I have blogged about them,I am willing to delete that part of my post and apologise to those noble people for having said nice things about them over the net.
The PPS's reply:
"Quite frankly, I don't think the VVIP minister who didn't complain because he didn't get the right newspaper, or the millionaire FCL pax who ate the EYCL meal constitute the "great and exemplary".
I think their names are being used in vain."
My reply:
So my point here is PITA PPS complain at the slightest thing eg. did not get a choice of meals, newspapers, the desired seats or not being addressed by their names and so forth but the VVIPs passengers do NOT.
Here I like to make another point and that is most of the PPS are well behaved passenger and it's only a handful who are the PITA or the "bad apples" who tarnish the good names of the other PPS passengers.
Aren't the topic here is about PITA (Pain In The A***) PPS?
Complimenting a person for a good deed or exemplary behaviour does not constitute to using his name in "vain".Those who do otherwise does.
Looks like my presence here has upset a few people so I am qualified to be a "PITA" too huh?.. except that it stands for Purposely, Intentionally Traumatised Another real PITA....hahaha
With the above reply from me to that PPS, the moderator of the forum had this to say:
"And after that rather thinly veiled personal attack, which is against the ..........., I'm going to close this thread. We thank boh tong for his viewpoints, and all other members for their input and opinions.
The moderators now feel that the discussion has run its course. We encourage those who are interested in commenting further to visit boh tong's website, which has several references in this thread."
PS. ...About my book the passenger mentioned,it was true a publisher had approached me about wanting to put my stories into book form.
My precious readers, what are your thoughts on the above?
Language Barrier.
Abu Bakar is the name of the Malay junior steward on the flight. His senior purser usually addressed him as "Bakar".
On a flight from Japan,a Japanese passenger stood next to the galley areas observing the crew working. He noticed the frequent used of the 'word' 'Bakar' by the purser towards the Malay steward. It was 'Bakar could you give the passenger a coke?' or 'Bakar go and ....' and 'Bakar.. this and Bakar' that...
Annoyed, this Japanese who was observing the crew pulled the purser up and in his broken English warned him..'No Baka prease...why scold him Baka,he work very hard!'
The purser found out, later on that 'baka' in Japanese meant stupid! ( pronunciation of Bakar and Baka is almost similiar)
At the pre-flight briefing, the chief purser 'warned' the crew that one of their passengers was going to be a Shaolin monk and jokingly told the crew to behave themselves otherwise "Shaolin monk would Kung-fu you".
The Japanese stewardess,Yuko sheepishly turned to a local stewardess and asked "why is Sharlyn's mum so fierce?" ( Sharlyn was another stewardess).
Senior purser John who was working in the upper deck instructed newbie stewardess "Blur Blur" to take the drink orders starting from the "last row".
Thirty minutes had passed and there was no sign of "Blur Blur" in the upper deck.
On investigation,John found "Blur Blur" on the main deck struggling with drink orders from passengers from the rear section of the economy class cabin.

Spooky revelation of SQ 006 crash..by "Prisoner" is FALSE!
According to some of my more knowledgeable readers of my blog, the topic "Spooky revelation of SQ 006 crash" posted in the internet is a hoax and this is what we want the world to know once and for all.Below are the comments from my readers:

Story is TOTALLY rubbish. Suspect murderer is a Malay, not a Eurasian. There was no Chief Stewardess, only 2 male Chief stewards and the IFS is deceased on that uneventful flight. Uncle Bohtong, u were around during that time and unfortunately with a useless CC SVP. I believe u shld not have posted an untruth story...be responsible.

The article was taken from the internet and it's good that knowledgeable ppl like you all refute the story for the world to know the truth.
By not publishing it others may think the article is true.

Let the deceased rest in peace la BT..wld u like it if they were ur family members??

If my family members were on the flight at least I wanna know the truth and besides the article is still in the internet.

Girl was killed in 1995, not 1999 (or 1 year before SQ006 crash).

did the pilot get to resume back its duties now?

The pilots were retrenched during the SARS period.
