Beh's Lover in SIA

Go and see who was Beh's lover in SIA

SIA CC interview is getting weirder by the day.

Why I am saying that the SIA cabin crew interviews are getting weirder? It is because of the so called "ban". I had a complaint from a candidate that she was told her "ban" was for 2 months from the January interview when she flung the final round. Today they told her she broke her "ban" period and kicked her out at the very first round. Come on today's interview is 27 April ok and that means she did not break the 2 month freaking "ban".
Another guy was booted in the 2nd round and this round was the kebaya fitting round. Did he wear the kebaya upside down?
Alright what is the freaking "ban" about? Ok ok sia has the pregorative to dictate its terms for the interviews but why the confusion about the "ban" thing? Why don't sia officially write to the failed candidates and inform them of the "ban" period. Why must the candidates be told verbally and sheepishly? Better come out clean and don't cause so much confusion.

SIA cabin crew interview at Sheraton Tower Hotel,S'pore on 27 April (Sunday)

Cabin crew (SIA) interview at Sheraton Tower Hotel.
I can visualise the long Q at Sheraton Tower this morning with so many stewardess/steward wannabe trying to fulfill their dreams of becoming SIA's,the world most renown and no. 1 in in flight service, flight attendants.
Understandably many will be booted and go home cursing SIA instead of themselves. Reasons for failing? mmm....many aren't up to the mark and many many more aren't ready for the job.
Aren't ready for the job? Yes many aren't ready because they do not have the commitment, the "do or die" attitude to really fulfill their dreams or they behave like school girls and boys.
Many do not even want to consult professional ex interviewers like myself or SS Tan, my ex colleague for a small fee. They kept asking for free advices and tips....hey like dat how to become cabin crew...so stingy!
Better be cockpit crew lah so can save lots of $$$ and buy houses, cars etc and then "ala squat" in the hotel rooms eating instant noodles during night stops ...hehehe
One example, which irks most interviewers would be an answer like " I was just passing by Sheraton on my way to do my shopping and so I hop in for the interview" This shows the lack of seriousness or commitment in wanting to be a flight attendant. Another example is, in the middle of the interview, the wannabe's hand phone suddenly let out that loud ring, ring bye thing. Some may dress shabbily,in their jeans, sandals etc etc.
The interviewers aren't in the mood to entertained those types of wannabes. They have a long and tedious day ahead of them. The whole long process of the interviews with the final results of whom are being recruited has to be announced on the same day. SIA is desperately short of flight attendants.
The interview is supposed to start at 9am and by that time you would see at least 400 candidates in the Q.
SQ or SIA should engage an agency to conduct the walk-in interviews for them,at least the first 2 to 3 rounds and then conduct the final rounds themselves. In this way,SQ would not overstretched their already overworked cabin crew executives, and managers.
I can set up that agency and recruit the retired cces and help out in the interviews for a small fee.....what do you think?

Maybe this could help cabin crew wanabes for Sunday's interview.

Requirements:

* Females who are at least 1.58m; males who are at least 1.65m in height
* At least 2 GCE ‘A’-level credits and 2 ‘O’-level credits including General Paper in the GCE ‘A’-level examination; or a Diploma from a local Polytechnic.
(Those with at least 5 GCE ‘O’-level credits, including English, and relevant working experience may also apply).
* For Malaysian qualifications, a minimum grade of B4 in English at SPM level is required for the above.
* Completed, are exempted from, or are not liable for National Service. Those in the process of completing NS may also apply.

Preference will be given to candidates who are able to speak foreign languages or are experienced in customer service.

round 1: Introduction
require to introduce yourself. Must speak with confidence

round 2:
Ht and wt to be taken in this round as well. 1 group was being checked and the other will already be dressed in kebaya waiting to be checked next. and my group was waiting for the first to finish and pass us their kebayas. there were altogether 20 odd kebayas if im not wrong. there were no sizes so u really gotta estimate which is your size. most of the kebayas that day were too long and some with faulty zips and clasps. but u really got to try to make do with it. most of them are tight and small even for the skinny girls. we were asked to bun up our hair and not only to tie them up. rubber bands were provided. you will be asked to walk up and down towards a staff and then hold a tray and back-face her. your hands will be checked as well. i had manicured fingernails when i went. some were asked to change out of their kebaya after the walk meaning they didn't pass.if u pass the walk then u will proceed to the skin check. i noticed the gals who got through the walk, they walk with a straight and upright posture with a bit and not too much of sashay. both hands should sway equally and not too much also. try to walk with a smile and elegantly. no slouching! then it's the skin check where the beautician will check your skin under 2 beams of light shining at your face. from the way i see you don't need to have flawlessly perfect skin as i do not have as well but try to maintain your skin in good condition when you go for interviews. conceal if you have to. go for facials if you have to. and please good makeup as well! you don't have to be tall and slim as i have seen those who are fleshy getting in as well. 4 out of 10 got through.

round 3:
this is also a killer round as i see more than half got ousted. i got a lady interviewer, quite young and very very nice. usually you will be asked to read a passage that is quite simple but i wasn't. i saw the passages as they were on the table though. she was basically chatting with me on myself, job experiences, family etc. all about yourself! although this is 'supposed' to be 1-1 interview but you may get 2 interviewers. can be 1 male 1 female or 2 females. i heard about the 2 female interviewers being very strict. well if u pass this they will give you a slip of paper where you will register your name for the water confidence test outside the ballroom. out of the 4 from round 2, 2 gals got through.

round 4:
management round and i have yet to go through that. it will be this coming week. was told by the staff in charge that passing rate will be about 60-70%. it is something like round 3 but this time round the staff are from management level and there will be at least 2 interviewers. just like a corporate interview i reckon. if you pass medical checkup will be on that day or the day after. then wait for a week for them to call you.

Above by a wanabe who attended previous interview.

My 2 cents worth!

Wrong answer from SIA for critical question - Today, 06:51 AM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I REFER to last Friday's report, 'Young image of SIA cabin crew: A wrong signal?', in which Northwest Airlines general manager Yeoh Hock Thye said the Singapore Airlines' policy of retaining only young cabin crew sends the wrong signal on the employability of older workers.

Dudley, hasnt it been obvious that SIA is selling youth and sex appeal to its customers? Besides hardly seen older flight attendants, how many male attendants have you ever encountered?

It is all a matter of cost benefits. Generally it is hardly to retrain older employees because many are set in their ways. It takes more time to sort out the able from the not-able. For that reason alone, many training set ups decided it is not worth the bother. Besides if you have a pretty young thing as a flight stewardess, even if she makes a mistake on the job, the passenger might be more forgiving, if not for any other reason, he is already feeling good to be served by the sweet young thing.

Flight attendants are the BIGGEST group of a division of employees in Singapore Airlines!!! The Chairman of SIA is being fed hogwash by the HR department.
The Chairman of SIA is also on the panel which exhorts Companies in Singapore to employ workers after the legislated retirement age of 62[ until 65] yet he is expounding a discrimination of age mentality. Age is merely a number not ability especially when the workers are able to perform their tasks, and experience counts in a lot of jobs.

He should wake up the divisions which supply him such RUBBISH.

The world will be very short of pilots yet, SIA insists that they retire at 62 despite all the major airlines have raised their retirement age to 65 for pilots. This rule has been passed by the ICAO since 2006. Once again SIA has not taken into consideration the experience that they will forgo.

There are many front lines employees in SIA who have the correct work ethics and good records and experience and are fit and able. What has age got to do with their performance? May be those in the office using their 'brains'may have experience BURNT OUT themselves before they reach that age[62] Let them have early retirement.

I am a retired cabin crew executive after working 35 yrs for SIA. I think Stephen Lee is right in many ways. First of all, I would love to be served by a young sweet girl rather than an old bald headed steward or a grumpy old maid. I think the older crew should be kept in the office to conduct traning or do admin work than flying around as cabin crew.
I don't think the SIA chairman is contradicting himself when championing the hiring of older workers. He was merely being practical when it comes to cabin crew. Look at those airlines with older crew. Are they better off than SQ? This is my 2 cents worth and coming from an old man, mind you.

Issues concerning SIA cabin crew ( collective agreement with SIA)

"Currently, we are still in the midst of the Collective Agreement (C.A) negotiations and till today ( 24th March 2008 ), we had not concluded nor signed any agreement pertaining to the C.A, with the exception of the Transport Allowance ( $ 270 )..."...from Alan Tan (SIA Staff Union's cabin crew division chairman).

"Collective Agreement (C.A.) Please be informed that YOUR UNION had a sitting with SIA Management on 25th March 2008 to negotiate the Collective Agreement.
We would like to inform all members that negotiations for the Collective Agreement is still ongoing and it HAD NOT BEEN signed yet..."

"Please do not hesitate to call any of your Union representatives for clarifications if you have any doubt/s so as to squash any rumours which are currently circulating in the grapevine".

My advice for cabin crew wannabes

There is a limit to what Luke can do for you wannabes. He can be very experienced in interview matters but mind you,he can't make you grow by a few cm taller if you do not have the required height (gals min is 158cm and guys min is 165cm). He is no magician. Same goes for those who do not have, for example ,the required minimun educational qualifications. Other than those 2 things I've mentioned, Luke definitely can help you get your dream job.

No BS about Luke because his method has been proven successful time and again. Look at the testimonies that keep pouring in after each interview. Not only Luke is able to equip you with the "know how" to breeze thru' the 4 tough rounds of interviews but he is able to motivate you to "believe in yourself" and by using the "visualisation" method plus his faith and yours combined, it is no wonder why so many of his students who previously failed many times finally succeeded.

Luke is a man of faith and he applies and practises that biblical quote that says "if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.".......so what is there to argue, right?

I do not need to ask you to attend his Talk because if you really want that dream job you know what to do.

Welfare and Charity by SIA.

Singapore Airlines recognizes the importance of giving charity to the communities it serves. Through corporate donations, sponsorships and other forms of support, Singapore Airlines has helped funded a host of events and charitable causes.

SIA has since the early 1980s helped funded the Community Chest of Singapore.

In 1987, the Airline helped set up Singapore's first kidney dialysis centre, with a donation of S$233,000 to the National Kidney Foundation.
For its 50th anniversary celebrations, the Airline contributed S$4 million to the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), to help built an office that provides employment for up to 400 intellectually disabled members.
The Cabin Crew Club for Community Care or 5Cs, founded in May 2001, annually organizes various activities and outings for residents of the Asian Women's Welfare Association (AWWA) Community Home and students of Chao Yang Special School on a regular basis. Volunteers were from the cabin crew and the ground divisions to feed as well as to improve the learning and teaching conditions in two schools in Bohol in the Philippines in June 2005.

SIA is still helping to fund charities locally as well as abroad to the tune of millions of dollars every year.

Plane in Emergency Landing after “Knife Attack”

An airliner flying from Malaysia to Bangladesh, made an emergency landing Tuesday about 10 a.m. at Don Muang International Airport in Bangkok, after a man armed with a knife threatened other passengers, Thai immigration officials said. The plane was carrying more than 60 passengers.

This guy/gal is out to discredit me.

This naive and gullible "person" is out to discreet me. He called me a "cheating con man " in his blog and he does not know he can be sued for it. He thinks that he is untraceable but the court of law can subpoena his internet service provider to reveal his identity.

In his blog ( maybe he is out to get traffic or more readership for his neglected blog...hmmm ok ok I link his blog here so he may get you people to visit his blog) he "proved" that Luke, Beh, Gloria's blogs etc etc were authored by one and the same person and that is me. He is a simpleton who uses his small tiny weeny brains to conclude that because all those abovementined or those mentioned in his blog come under the same Google AdSense account (advetisements you see surrounding the blogs)must have belonged to me.
Please la there are so many people out there who does not know how to create blogs for themselves ( at one time I've offered to help these people set up blogs or I create the blogs for them) and I set up for them on the condition that the Googles ads would be under my account.
So they keep their blogs which were created by me and I earn the money from the Googles ads.
Anyone who wants me to create a ready-made blog with beautiful templates can approach me. All you need is an valid email address.Even if do not have an email account, I can open one for you. The best thing is I do it all for FREE!
Ok,ok coming back to that silly ass. Let me say this, even if those blogs were mine and I've pretended to be Beh or Gloria or Luke or whoever and people enjoy reading those blogs, have I committed a crime or conned or cheated anyone??
What is my accuser up to and what is his agenda? Why is he so bitterly against me? Is he envious because I make money? He too can also make money thru' his blog. Its a free world and we don't rob people of anything if Google thinks we are able to host their ads on our blog.
How about authors who write fictions and make money? Must the authors be a part of the stories they write? Think about it man!
Well well I will let my readers be the judges.
On the right side bar there is a poll on this subject and I hope you all can help me by participating so I would be able to know whether I've done the right thing or not.....thank you.

I love this ex stewardess(Lily Ann) and sympathises the others

Don't get me wrong for heaven sake cos I have got nothing to do with her in real life. In cabin crew,it's a norm to address the gals as "honey" "darling","sweety" and v v etc etc..As a way of expressing how much you appreciate your colleague,it's fine to say eg. "love you sweetheart", "I miss you baby" etc etc.
This ex SIA stewardess is an angel. She is a super super ( today young ppl's lingo)positive lady and an excellent mom. She, during all these while that I know her has never whine or complain about whatever I blog,be it bad or otherwise, about stewardesses or ex stewardess. If she didn't like what I said, she would diplomatically make a joke out of it.
In my last post, I talked about sleeping with stewardesses as one of the perks which will enticed me to be a cabin crew again if given a chance,Lily Ann was not offended. It is not that she slept around when she was a crew but she simply ignored that part which may be offensive to her and other stewardesses.
Yes,I love Lily Ann ( don't tell hubby ok) for her character. A capable cabin crew and now a loving mother to her 2 young children, she is enjoying her life. No wonder, Lily got into SIA on her first attempt at the interview.
Perhaps, Lily should blog about her life as a SIA gal, would you please,Honey? It would definitely be interesting. Or you rather not because hubby may come to know about the little skeletons you have been keeping in your closet...hehehe.
For mother wannabes as well as existing mothers, you all should visit Lily's blog and find out how to "run" the family with loving efficiency.

Now we turn to a current SIA gal who has been flying for about 2 years.
Her name is Gloria. She bitches about almost everything except herself. She hates her nasty passengers (actually who doesn't)and blog negatively about her dad and tell the whole world that her dad "raped" her mom during one of their night stops ( Mom and dad were cabin crew). She really sucks!

What about this gal who is into her 7th month of flying with SIA? She was dying to be a stewardess, against her dad's wishes but now found out that her stay overseas are boring. She is also worried that her boyfriend, not a crew though,is neglected and paying attention to some gals on the "ground". She won't last long, with this type of character. I can predict that eventually she would quit flying to spend more time with her boyfriend but only to discover her boyfriend has already two timed her.
Poor gal should get a counselling lesson from Lily Ann.

Hmmm...so true of the saying that "it takes all sorts of ppl to make the world".

I will do it all over again if given the chance.

If I am given the chance,I will want to be a cabin crew with Singapore Airlines again. The are several good reasons for my saying so.
It is a job that let me stay in 5 star hotels. The job itself is fun, working with different people all the time, unlike in an office where you would be facing the same colleagues day in and day out.
It is also not a monotonous 9 to 5 job and get your days off on weekends. As a crew,my days off would be like 2 to 4 or even 5 days in a stretch. On standby days where most of the time we are not activated are considered as days off.
The pay is not bad especially if you are not a graduate. To earn an average of S$3,500 a month plus around 3 to 6 months bonus a year with SIA is quite good.
I get to meet all kinds of people and most are nice except for a few who might slap me.....but then I don't mind because I would be paid 50k for a "gentle" slap from the super rich.
I would also get to meet sexy and friendly ladies on board and I would even have the chance to sleep with them in my cosy hotel rooms.
If I am a gay,I would be able to "Kow suar"(get connected) handsome man of different nationalities. Working in the office would make me vomit when I see my boss's face ( most of the time not handsome).
Besides the beautiful sexy ladies passengers, most likely I would have stewardesses as my bed partners during those cold snowy nights. In all probability,I won't miss my family cos I would be pre-occupied during my night stops.
If I am an alcoholic, drinks are either free or cheap and most likely I would die drinking which is better than dying of cancer with its unbearable pain.
If a passenger is not nice to me,I can do all sorts of things to get the frustration out of my chest. I can't scold or be rude to him but I can....hmmmm ( trade secret ma).
Stay tune, more shit coming your way...hehehe

Me YC Wan??

Under my last post "I like this comment" there were 2 other naivee readers, presumeably ex SQ gals who think I am another cabin crew executive by the name of Y.C. Wan.
YC ? must be kidding because he ain't got balls to blog about SIA. He is so careful with every damn thing to criticise about his ex employer. For that matter, most my ex colleagues don't have the balls to say anything which they don't like in public but bitch about it privately. And you guys think I am YC...haha.
The only one I can think of who has the guts was SS Tan. He had on many occasions told off his bosses, including svp like Chris Lee, Theong and company. YC? he was in the good books of the bosses but not SS. The latter could worked his balls out but never recognised by his bosses. The rest? Same as YC lah..but don't get me wrong cos they were nice people, nice to their bosses and not so nice to their subordinates..hahaha.
Most of the time, they "cho cho" or "poke fire" at SS and make him like a suicide bomber for their cause.
They thought SS didnt know they were using him for their cause. Of course SS was more intelligent than they thought. SS like to hatam the bosses because it was in his blood to do that. He couldn't live a single day without irritating his bosses. He would simply go nuts if didn't irritate his bosses. So he did it because that was him.
As for me? I am not that balless guy. Please do not associate me with him ok? I don't mind if I am being associated with SS, afterall which ex cce doesn't hehehe.

Oh....I think I remember you from your pix. You did my FSS training in 1988. If my memory serves me correctly, you related the story of how you got a huge cut on your inner thigh while trying a to uncork a bottle of wine....missing your "future generation". And...when they tried to adminster O2 to you, someone was stepping over the O2 tube. If that is you, till today, I still remember that story. I would deter anyone that would use thier thighs as leverage when uncorking wine bottles.

PS. No longer flying, but SQ was one of the biggest break in my life. It enable this Ipoh girl to save enough to go to college in USA and now living the American Dream. I am now a senior underwriter for a financial company in USA. There is life after SIA...plan it well to all those SIA cabin crew and wanabees
