SIA on track to almost fully restored its flight network?

Speaking (SIA CEO) to media on November 12, 2021, the head of the airline confirmed that currently, the company employs 92% of the flight crew and 86% of the cabin crew it used to have before the global demand slump. In the meantime, the carrier also reactivated 79% of the fleet.

The question many are asking is what has happened to the rest of the 14% cabin crew?

Any clever answers from you?

Hello Both Tong

As cabin crew, whilst serving passengers, can we wear wireless earphone on one ear so that our mundane tasks feel less boring?

Also, can we use WIFI to access internet provided by SQ plane when we seat on jumpseat during lull period after serving passengers?

Thanks

1) Definitely no!
2) Also no, internet services are for passengers only and it is not free.

Hi Boh Tong

Thks for the reply on the enquiry.

If that's the case, I think being CC is not worth it nowadays.

- Decrease nightstop allowance yearly
- No MC (frequent MC delays promotion, contract may not be renewed)
- Stagnant pay
- Ever demanding pax/ crew supervisor
- little transferable skills
- Off days need to attend courses (no points, no promotion = no life with family)

And etc...

BT, I think SQ should allow CC have free internet access and freedom to do what they like whilst working on plane so that they can stay longer than 5 years.

Thanks.

Whether is worthwhile flying for SQ is a matter of personal opinion. As to the internet issue, SQ is very strict on this matter. It wants its workers to concentrate on their job and not be distracted.
I used to be a cc executive and had a pc in the office. Despite of our plea with management for internet access, it stubbornly refused to accede to our request. Only thing was it allowed us to access work related files.

In the future to prevent close contact, inflight comms might include phone connected call bells, emergency procedures refresher, and calming soothing music.Would not be surprise some forward looking airline update their comms system to such,to no touch system to avoid contacts with paxs.No contact means no infection.
