Stressed and anxious to be confined to a hotel room

I stumbled across this report in a newspaper titled
'I dread my flights': Some SIA, Scoot air crew feel toll of movement restrictions they face while overseas..."
Couldn't believe a cabin crew could tell a reporter about her being "stressed", "anxious" etc when confined to her hotel room while on her nightstops overseas ....read here
In the outside world, many are worried about losing their jobs while the crew are being paid to be "confined" in a hotel room (with meal allowances paid by the employer ."The woman in her early 30s, who asked that her name not be published, recounted a recent incident in which she was overcome with panic as she prepared to embark on a flight to a destination where she would be required to remain largely confined to a hotel room"

Any comments?

Wait till she's no longer offered a re-contract and confined in disbelief in her house bedroom that her coffee, tea, service skills is darn useless on the ground world.

Unless of course, she continues to be a waitress on the ground - low pay less than 2k, no off day, no Paris/London/etc, no delicious food,..

Hahahaha

it make whole lots of sense, how can government impose quarantine order to cabin crews within the room when they keep adding on more and more VTLs? Passengers (including Singaporeans) take off their mask almost immediately once they left the airport (some even the aircraft due to local policies) and are free to roam around, then fellow cabin crews have to serve the same bunch of people who then board the aircraft. All the CAAS and MOH wayang.

Pity our fellow airline frontliners.

Very strange leh. When np jio them for sightseeing or a simple meal together, they say got uncle in joberg or brother study in moscow etc leh. Nimpeh knew they were watching their porn and drama in room la and enjoying their ala squat maggy mee. Nimpeh only see them during check out time. So why now dread going fligt or in room?

learn to respect others.

Where you want to go, what you want to eat, who you want to experience something with is totally individual, why should anyone ever agree to sightsee/eat/etc with you? Are you paying for them? Even if you are, must it be forced upon anyone?

Have crews these days expecially those with certain seniority lost the ability to respect others, in the mean time selfishly expecting their own ego to be polished and balls to be sucked ? (and vice versa for other gender), is that what was taught in STC back in the days? Or was it some people have no self awareness?

At the end of the day everyone is just everyone's colleagues, stop the bullshit about "family", none of your colleagues is your "family", except if it is reciprocal.

Dont talk big la , what learn to respect otherS? What selfish to expect ego polished?

When come to promotion isnt it all go back to wag tails and por lanpa ( suck balls ) ?

All these were taught exactly in STC, I suspect you not a crew to begin with thats why you dont know our por lanpa culture!

Panic when "confined" to a hotel room so how to assist passengers during an emergency? Airlines should look into this when hiring flight attendants and pilots.

Being a flight attendant is, nowadays, one of the least preferred jobs.

Times have changed, the world is much more accessible from your phone, laptop etc.
Order anything online from Peru to Penang, Batam to Bosnia.

Even flying to or traveling to exotic or well loved destination is affordable. Unless flying in First or Business class, tickets are very affordable.

Trying to leverage on being a flight crew to go to far flung places or get privilege travel tickets is just no longer attractive. Why, in God's name would anyone subject self to humiliating anxiety the chance of being offloaded or be confined to room?

To subject self to limited flight schedules, to struggle, beg to change flights. get medical certificates, to risk getting infections, to be placed in a standby pool unable to drink alcohol...?

To have to pretend to love and be awe struck with heads of departments, Vice Presidents, executives,... and the ridiculous Union reps...

To pretend to be enthralled serving pax who are obnoxious, impolite and entitled.

All this for a basic salary of less than $3,000...
With restrictions on annual leave, medical treatments, social media, ...

No thanks.
