No need for BT to whitewash the bad image of cc because there isn't anything bad about cc. These cc are just trying to earn a decent living by doin an honest job so don't you come here and talk cock!

Depending on who is reporting. All news true ,some more truer than other. Thanks to. the Internet, pushed news and seeked news, entirely words and world apart.Example ,Russia special ops into Ukraine ,not Invasion. The whole world says it's war, real dead civilians and destruction, not special effects done for movies.Tik tok says one version,Prada report of the same incident, another angle, trying to fool who ?You ?Me ?Fool yourself first, then talk.Viewer will judge, viewer are king, without which no eyeball,no hits.Blog with no viewership simply dies.

Yup I agreed with the above. Why should I whitewash cabin crew? It is a fact some are envious of cc for reasons we do not know but come here and smear cc and accused me of painting a false picture of being a crew.
To the cc wannabes: I would like to encourage you to try to get into SQ but at the end of the day it is all up to you.

There are no jobs that will allow employment for more than 20 years.
Not in this era. ( Unless you are a PAP MP... it can be forever, but that is for another site)

Since that is the true situation, being a flight attendant for more than 5 years will
be painting yourself into a corner.

There is absolutely no job security ( like any other job )
And there is an absence of marketable skills that can be brought to the next job.
However, other jobs will very likely allow you to pick up more marketable, useful skills.

Being a flight attendant is ok..but do not stay beyond 5 years.
There is no advantage in flying to Paris, London, Rome, Tokyo or New York anymore.
There are so many regional flights that will be a turnaround or at best 1 night ( literally)

You can do that easily without being a flight attendant.. and with more time to enjoy the trip.

The challenge is to get out of the brainless routine of rosters upon rosters. You learn more about how to evade certain nasty co-workers, change flights, sell flights, push/pull a meal cart..
and... say "sorry" to everyone... not just passengers. Dress the seat pockets, check the serviceability of fire extinguishers,...

How useful will all that be to your next job..??

You do not even get a nationally certified first aid qualification.!!

Thanks Anonymous for backing me up.

Boh Tong was trying too hard to glamourise the job of being CC as though its a God-like given job.

You see BT, no matter how much you try, you can secretly admit what this Anon says is the brutal truth which you yourself experienced post-CC.

There is no absolute good or bad about a specific job, it's just based on the suitability of each individual based on many factors.
No point harping on the comparison between the polarity.
In fact, it subconsciously dictated the decision of others.

To those who are interested, keen, or inconclusive.
Sometimes, we need to experience ourselves to really know the suitability and possibilities of something.
There are specific knowledge or skill to be learned in all jobs if passion and focus are fulfilled.

Knowledge and skills don't have to be specially compartmental in job survival, but they can be useful in your social assimilation, and enhance your EQ which will provide lots of life opportunities, for example, interpersonal skills.

Ultimately it's your book of life that nobody owns..make your own chapter.

Don't be an idoit. U can go and upgrade yourself (get a doctorate degree) and get into a job where u can learn new skills and be the best - but let me tell u this - if u ever lose your job at a critical age (40yrs ++)- do u know what u can expect?
Let me tell you. "Your AGE" will override whatever skill and degree u may have acquired. So don't waste your time going into a job thinking u can acquired more skills. Remember, "age" is the factor that will shock u into a realisation that eh.... No use leh, all these upgrading. The boss not interested, they are more interested in your age. Hehe, this is real-time and reality. Don't kit yourself.
U are better off being a steward, at least u have fun getting to
