No more anonymous comment

I have decided not to allow "Anonymous" comment. One must have a Google account and use its Gmail to comment in this blog.
Reason for doing this is because some people are hiding under the "skirt of anonymity" to attack me because of my encouragement of the young to join SIA as cabin crew. I don't understand why are these people getting personal with me. One may disagree with my posts but why attack and harass me?

As usual, once u take away the anonymous factor u hardly will get any comment. Why?
Actually u should be thankful to them for coming in to comment but to harass and attack u, now this is going overboard.
Looks like Trolls , afraid to exposed.
Once u don't get comment coming through, it's quite obvious who they are.
The Internet, although anonymous, is still traceable.
So don't play play.

Don't need such vicious people here, Sunny. If they are dare enough to reveal their identity I will let them say whatever they want about me but of course if they accused me falsely I will take them to court.
This place will be better off without such characters. I don't mind having less comments in my blog.

Now this is good. 👍. And u r right. Better not to have them around making idiotic comments than to have them into it.
This was how they destroyed the popularity of your blog. They shot down people who had good content/comments using their anonymity.
Strange ah, looks like u need to use the LKY tactic to handle them, hehe.
Why, they jealous that u r able to provide coaching services to people who want to be CC?
This must be the case.

Hi, BT, whilst it is good of you to have such a requirement to log in, I am sure you will know that it is not an absolute solution to prevent adverse and wilful comments against you.

This is because any wilful person(s) will post adverse comments against you on other blogs, given the wide network of social media networks. You mentioned "taking them to court", but it is a very tedious process. Firstly, you have to track and identify the true identity of the person who made the wilful comments. As you know, there are many ways to avoid detection. Secondly, you have to serve the legal documents before a court hearing can take place. All these cost money. Thirdly, assuming you are able to accommplish the above 2 conditions and you are even able to get a favourable judgment, there might also be problem.

Our legal system is such that the loser will pay compensation and legal costs. What if, for example, the loser refuse, or cannot affort, to pay? You will end up having to pay your own legal bills and also take further action against him. To put it bluntly, you will be forced to make decision to throw good money after bad. Which is why we don't see many legal actions of this sort.

SunnyGale commented that you are using the LKY tactic. In those cases which the late LKY had sued, the defendants made those comments publicly, and so it was more straightforward for him. In any event, the late LKY has all the resources needed.

Your blog already has a reservation that you have the right to censor and reject wilful posts. That should be enough.

So, my thoughts are these:-

1. Might as well let those wilful posters continue if they still need a false sense of superiority complex. Most of your readers are mature enough to know what is right and what is wrong.

2. By imposing restriction(s), it might give him the misguided interpretation that he had succeeded in annoying you.

They are repercussion and throwback to unfettered and wilfull comments in here.It is safer to point out the truth, learning from mistake rather then censoring.Tracetogether apps can be use for criminal investigation, notwithstanding all claims, and BT, blog seems to be the last bastion of free speech in Singapore,as a matter of fact.

Thank you Uncle Boh Tong.

The way l see it, all u got to do is to reject those willful posts.
By rejecting, it is very effective as this action frustrate the person right to the core and may result in suicidal tendency.
Just like scam call nowadays, when u don't pick up, the scammer give up. They surrender instead… on your inaction. So same here, just don't post. Read it and laugh on, don't be bothered and it will frustrate them.
The reason why u are getting the harassments is bec they are frustrated that they r unable to get thru to u about the "joining the CC issue."

To Sunny Gale, yes, as the old saying goes, there are many ways to skin a cat.

I am also a CC Wannabe but was not able to be one. With some friends, applied for the position many many years ago (when Chief Stewards wore the ketchup-coloured jacket and Senior Chief Stewards, now IFM, wore the chocolate-coloured jacket). Some of us got it, some did not and I was one of the latter - no hard feeling and no axe to grind. Just moved on.
