SIA overwhelmed by number of applicants

This was the first SIA walk-in cabin crew interview in Singapore after 3 years. All the interviews before this one (30 July 2022) was through online application. So one can imagine the excitement generated by the cabin crew hopefuls who were at MBS on 30 July morning. Some were there queuing long before registration began at 8:30am.
The response was so overwhelming that SIA decided to carry forward part 2 of the interview to another date. Cabin crew were shorthanded. They did not expect such a huge turnout. I suspect the number of applicants must be almost a thousand.
Who dare say that young Singaporeans frown upon the flying job?

Yes too old but can try applying because things may have changed

43 is a little too old to be hired by SIA as a cabin crew. If you are an ex crew you may stand a chance.

Thank you, but it doesnt state the preferred age(range) upon starting training though.....

What is Discriminatory Hiring?

Discriminatory hiring refers to the recruitment of employees based on criteria other than their ability to perform the job. This would include age, race, gender, religion, nationality or marital status.

As an employer, you should note that discriminatory practices can happen at any point during the recruitment process. For example:

When advertising the job vacancy:

An advertisement stating a “Chinese-speaking environment” can be considered discriminatory.

During the job application:
A job application form requiring information on the candidate’s age may be discriminatory.

At the interview:
Asking a candidate whether she intends to have a child during an interview can be discriminatory.

What has your subject got to do with the post by BT? Are you trying to promote something here?

A thousand considered alot meh. I went walk-in at Sheraton 10 years ago (yes 2012) and i was in group 130+ at 11am. Meaning there were at least 1300 applicants before me. And it was only 11am.
