One successful and not the other one
Fish & Co was established in the late 1990s and turned out to be successful while Kevin Khoo in 2020 was a failure. Both were owned by ex SIA cabin crew. Do you know why one was successful and not the other one?

Fish started during the turbulent Asian financial crisis and Kevin during Covid-19. Both faced difficulties from the start but Fish survived because it has matured and serious leaders like Ricky and Lambert. That made the big difference!
**** shop names like kevin khoo (cabin crew) is a bad start to begin with. They think its v funny and original. Wanna advertise as good service like airline. Come on, such airline service nothing to shout about. Good riddance.
There must be clear idea what the business is all about. Where it must go and how to do it. Marketing, and online presence is key.
Even scammers know how to market online and get results.
Fish & Co started in a different era where there is a dearth of deep fried seafoods at attractive prices... and they opened branches in very strategic locations... targeting younger people and families.
Now there are so many people operating deep fried western foods..from hawker ctrs to food courts..
Nothing stands out at Kevin Khoo. Not girls Not alcohol Not food Not location Mot pricing
If you have anything to sell, sell one thing... and sell it damn f---king well.
Hi, BT, you are wrong to say "One successful and not the other one". If I am not mistaken, there was also another one which was not successful - it was a high-end restaurant located at Istana Park (the island-garden outside Istana bounded by Orchard Road, Penang Road and Buyong Road) I dined there once, about 10 years back (business dinner), telling myself that it would be a challenge in the long term due to accessibility, human traffic and menu. I could be wrong and there's probably other reasons.
Hi, BT, hope I didn't sound rude with my opening remark that you were wrong. On hindsight, it did sound a bit curt - I could have started with, "....If I am not mistaken...."
