What an irony!

NSW of which Sydney is its capital is opening its border to fully vaccinated international travelers from 1 November onwards (without quarantine or isolation). What an irony at a time when the Covid infections are spiking to open its border. When its Covid infections were in the single digit, NSW did not allow its own citizens to travel back from overseas let alone international visitors.

I supposed SG would also follow suit. Is it a case of hypocrisy or economic consideration?? Anyhow, it is good for the tourism and aviation sectors and definitely good for SIA !

Keep going SIA cos you're are still a great way to fly!

Another wonderful news for SIA and the tourism businesses. My guess is at least 50% of the crew are now flying and with the additional 9 countries (VTL) at least 80% of the crew will be back on roster. SIA will start to recover it business of transporting passengers. It will emerge stronger than before the pandemic. Keep going SIA!!! Tomorrow when the stock market opens, SIA shares will soar!

Good news for SIA

From 15 November this year, South Korea and SG vv will start the bubble travel for vaccinated people   w/o quarantine but pcr test only (result must be negative). USA and SG are in the process of talking of   some kind of travel too. Currently, Vaccinated Travel Lane between Germany and SG vv and Brunei, SG vv are already in progress. This is good news for tourism and the travel industries especially SIA.

Infection rate highest

Singapore yesterday reported  1,939 local infection which is the highest since the pandemic started last year.. I think the more testing is done the rate will spike. Moreover, since the vaccination rate is more than 80%, there will be more cases of infection. Just compare with HK whereby the vaccination rate is 57% and the covid number is in single digit.

The hope of SIA returning to normalcy is now in jeopardy unless something is done!

Rising in number of infection in Singapore

Yesterday the local community Covid infection has risen over 800. Some countries are asking their citizens to avoid visiting Singapore. China has claimed that one of it's citizen who recently returned from Singapore has brought the Delta variant home and infected some people.

It looks like SIA's opportunity to start more flights has been damped by the high number of infection in Singapore. The light is dimmer now at the end of the tunnel not only for SIA but the tourist industries here.
