Walking one of my favourite dogs

Billy was a cute and adorable Yorkie. Whenever his "Papa & Mama" travelled, I would be asked to look after him. Billy loved his walks. He was a lovable and cute little "boy". 9 years ago at aged 5, Billy died of kidney failure. Not only was his "Papa & Mama" sad but my wife and I was sad too. This animation was done in remembrance of "Billy Boy".

One died another warded in a mental hospital

I have just received news that a stewardess was critically ill and had passed away yesterday. I don't have  any information on her illness but knows her name which I will not publish.

Also, an inflight manager was warded in IMH due to acute depression. I heard it was due to some domestic issues which drove him to depression. Hope he recovers speedily is our prayer. I know this ifm and was surprised he could fall into depression as he was a jolly and fun person. He is also a very good singer.

More hard times ahead

The SG government has barred people from India coming to Singapore due to the increase of coronavirus infections and deaths over there.
The Australia/New Zealand vv travel bubble which started last Sunday has been suspended due to the rise in the number of cases in Western Australia.
The Tokyo summer Olympics is in limbo. Even if it goes ahead in 100 days time, the Japanese government will not allow spectators from abroad.
Singapore/Hong Kong vv travel bubble which is to start in May has also been postponed again. No reasons were given by both sides.
There are also not encouraging signs as many places in Europe and the South Americas are seeing the spike in Covid-19 cases.
The airline industry is now at a critical stage and many airlines had either ceased to fly or had closed shop.
As for SIA, the government subsidy scheme which pays 50% of the staff salaries including the pilots and cabin crew will end in September this year. If other countries borders still remain closed for another year, I think the  subsidy scheme may be discontinued. In short, no opening of borders equals no business equals no employment. Then what??

Tragedy one after another

Not receiving a single cent from her employer for the last 11 months is already
bad enough for leading stewardess Fatima. Now, after returning from Malaysia
where she spent her 11 month "no pay   leave" to start flying again, Fatima is stricken
 with advanced gastric cancer.
Her husband who is also a cabin crew with Malaysian Airlines is trying to come to Singapore
to be by her side. Due to the financial situation Fatima and her husband are in, the
cabin crew of SIA has kindly raised some fund for his SHN and living expenses while in Singapore.
Please pray for Fatima's recovery if you can.

 Thank You.

UK is easing lockdown rules

It is very encouraging to hear that UK has decided to lift the coronavirus lockdown and restrictions from  today. This is good news for the travel industries as well as the restaurants, pubs etc in England. Besides, it is also good news for the airlines sectors.

Cases of Covid are going up instead of down

Now it's reported that there is a third and fourth wave of Covid infection in France, Germany, India and   others. I heard over the news that certain part of India has seen 90,000 new cases a day and 40,000+ in France etc. Lockdowns will be imposed or have already been imposed in the abovementioned places. If the coronavirus infection does not subsided then many airlines including Singapore Airlines and tourism related industries will be badly affected. I also heard that the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius is now in lockdown.
Things aren't getting better. In fact, the future, at least in the next year or so looks pretty bad. Vaccines do not seems to help and so I think we need divine intervention.
