A tribute to "Papa Chiang"

The late Lawrence Chiang was a soft spoken and kind hearted man. It was an honor to have him as a colleague. In all the years I've worked with him, I have never seen or heard him losing his cool. To his trainees, he was affectionately known as Papa Chiang because of his fatherly figure.
Many years ago, a passenger abused him on our flight. Lawrence was as timid as a mouse even though he was bullied by that nasty passenger he did not retaliate. I was so upset with the passenger and told him to take me on when we arrived at our destination. That coward backed off. In fact I had forgotten about the incident until much later when Lawrence told me what had happened. We had a good laugh.
There was a colleague who used to take advantage of Lawrence. This guy used to be broke due to his habitual gambling. Whenever he needed money to gamble or settle his debts, he would asked Lawrence. They would go to the ATM at STC and Lawrence would withdraw money for him. Such was the generosity of Lawrence.
We will miss him and may he RIP!

RIP Lawrence Chiang

Lawrence was my ex-colleague. We are about the same age. He was a kind man who used to help another colleague financially when that guy was broke. RIP Lawrence. My condolences to his loved ones.

I do not miss the trouble makers

It has been quieter now since I disallowed anonymous comment on this blog. It is better to be quieter than to have the irritants come here and talk rubbish. Some of them think that without their presence my revenue from this blog will drop drastically. Frankly, I do not much from blogging. I hardly get enough to buy myself a cup of coffee and so I don't miss much. As for now I am "blog fatigued" as I have been blogging here since 2006. I am turning now to YouTube, trying to be a YouTuber. It's a tough just to earn a few bucks.

How the crew of the 60s, and 70s handled unruly and aggressive passengers

During my time as a cabin crew there were hardly any passenger giving the crew a hard time. If they dared to, they would have met with the same treatment. In the old days, there were no social media and few reporters were around to pick up stories of crew fighting back the abusive and aggressive passengers. This embolden the crew not to cowed to the bullies. There were many stories of how the crew handled the unruly passengers. I won't want to elaborate as it is not in the interest of anyone since it happened about 40 to 50 years ago.
