Shoplifting

Heard that the Osaka shoplifting case wasn't the only one in recent times but there were a few other cases. In this post I am only going to talk about why people shoplift and what do they normally steal. My answers to the first part are:
1) Boredom (applicable to crew during nightstops)
2) Greed
3) Sick (psychological disorders)
My answers to what they usually steal:
1) clothings including underwear
2) Jewellery
3) Something that can be easily hidden

If you have anymore to add please type them in the comment space.

Crew detained in Japan due to .....

A steward was alleged to have shoplifted some items from a shop in Osaka, Japan recently. He was caught by the staff and handed over to the police. The steward was detained even though he explained it was all a misunderstanding. Due to the limited understanding of the English language nothing much could be done to help the poor guy.
I was told the owner of the shop did not want to press charges against the steward. All the shop owner wanted was an apology and payment for the items allegedly stolen. This was comply with and the steward was released. However, on arrival at the airport, the steward was detained by the immigration officer. This time the so called crime was overstaying. The steward was supposed to leave Japan on a certain day with his crew but due to his detention in Osaka he had to depart a few days later which was against the Japanese immigration law.

SIA's inflight meals are yummy

Came back recently on SQ 655 from FUK. It was a 6 hour flight and besides drinks and nuts served after take off, lunch was served 2 hour before landing into SG. I chose the Japanese beef curry rice (above video) which was delicious. Accompanying the curry rice was a packet of cracker, cheese, ice cream plus hot beverages. Not to forget SQ also serves wines and other alcoholic drinks for free. In my opinion, the lunch was so good that I wish I can fly SQ again and again 😋👌👍

Why some people are envious

I flew back on FUK/SIN recently and was served by the crew that spent 3 nights in Fukuoka. For the 3 night stops I think each crew was paid an estimated $1,000 for meals, location and ifa. They literally had a vacation in Fukuoka. Plus they stayed at a 5 star hotel with each room to themselves. I think this is one of the reasons why some people are envious of the crew. What's so difficult or tiring serving one meal and a few drinks to the passengers over a 6 hour flight?

SIA Cabin Crew Serving Lunch on SQ655

I came back on this flight yesterday and was served by a wonderful set of cabin crew. I enjoyed the flight and particularly like the Japanese beef curry rice.

2 ex crew died and I didn't know about it!

I knew one of the 2 deceased by the nickname of Joe Stone but can't recall the other one whose initial is M. They both passed away recently.
The passing of the older ex-crew is frequent these days as most are now in their 60s and 70s. I have fond memories of many of them and I do missed them except for a few.
I heard svp cc is asking for early retirement as he is not in the best of health. We wish TPT speedy recovery.

Lucky people, excellent company

The coming 8 months bonus for SIA staff is a lot of money. Take for example a stewardess who has been flying for 1 to 5 years may be paid something like 12k (1.5 x by 8) or an inflight manager 28k or a captain 120k! Lucky people working for an excellent airline. Only regret is those crew who left because they refused to be vaccinated against Covid. Think these former crew should be reinstated to their former position.
