Many said that flying as a cabin crew has no future. But I know of a case of 2 ex classmates whom I will compare here, how they fared after finishing school. Lets name them as A and B. Both are now 50 years old.
After finishing "A" level A became a steward with SIA while B furthered his studies in Australia. Upon graduation, B immigrated to Australia. He job-hopped because he was dissatisfied with the jobs he was doing However, A is stuck with SIA and is now a chief steward. B was retrenched during the pandemic and is still unemployed.
In Singapore, A owns a 5 roomed HDB flat while B is renting a place in Australia. Both own a medium size car. I was told A has 2 children and B has none. A has a savings of at least S$50,000 while B has no savings. In fact B is on the dole which is about $1,000 a month. A as a chief steward is drawing a monthly take home pay of about $5,000.
Who is doing better....A or B?
