Why some people are envious

 I flew back on FUK/SIN recently and was served by the crew that spent 3 nights in Fukuoka. For the 3 night stops I think each crew was paid an estimated $1,000 for meals, location and ifa. They literally had a vacation in Fukuoka. Plus they stayed at a 5 star hotel with each room to themselves. I think this is one of the reasons why some people are envious of the crew. What's so difficult or tiring serving one meal and a few drinks to the passengers over a 6 hour flight?

I came back on this flight yesterday and was served by a wonderful set of cabin crew. I enjoyed the flight and particularly like the Japanese beef curry rice.

2 ex crew died and I didn't know about it!

I knew one of the 2 deceased by the nickname of Joe Stone but can't recall the other one whose initial is M. They both passed away recently.

The passing of the older ex-crew is frequent these days as most are now in their 60s and 70s. I have fond memories of many of them and I do missed them except for a few.

I heard svp cc is asking for early retirement as he is not in the best of health. We wish TPT speedy recovery.

Lucky people, excellent company

 The coming 8 months bonus for SIA staff is a lot of money. Take for example a stewardess who has been flying for 1 to 5 years may be paid something like 12k (1.5 x by 8) or an inflight manager 28k or a captain 120k! Lucky people working for an excellent airline. Only regret is those crew who left because they refused to be vaccinated against Covid. Think these former crew should be reinstated to their former position.

8 months bonus for SIA staff

 SIA is going to reward its staff with a big 8 months' bonus after a recorded profit of over $2 billion. The staff deserves the bonus after what they had gone through during the pandemic.

Not in a million years

 Many years ago I privately told my then svp about employing foreign crew from Asia but he arrogantly brushed me aside and told me not in a million years. He said he did not want SIA to be like CX but now who is right?

Shorter walk-in interview

There was a cabin crew walk-in interview in Singapore last Saturday. The turnout was quite poor as compared to other walk-in interviews. There was no queue I was told. Poor SIA! Why are young Singaporeans shunning the cabin crew job? Is it due to the salary, working condition or people are simply not interested in the flying job anymore?

For SIA the alternative is to fill up the cc job with more foreigners. The young ones from India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand etc are dying to don the Balmain kebaya. Would employing foreigners a good alternative? What do you think my dear readers?

Breakfast on SQ Japan flight

 

The topmost image is the yakisoba breakfast and the lower is chicken patty and scrambled eggs. Both dishes were delicious although the size of the trays are smaller. I still think the food served on SIA flights are much tastier than in the past years.
