Hotel in Asakusa Tokyo,Japan

A short vacation at Asakusa

We flew on StarFlyer a Japanese domestic carrier from Kitakyushu to Haneda and spent the weekend in Asakusa, Tokyo. Enjoyed the short holiday because I was there to meet my daughter and grand daughter.
The hotel we stayed was new and inexpensive. Cost us about S$100 a night. Domestic fare after a senior discount was less than $400 return.

Two attended my coaching passed the interview

It's gratifying to note that out of the three girls who attended my coaching for the SIA cabin crew interview, two passed the entire interview and one failed because she fell short of the required height.
The interview was at SIA Training Center today.
Congratulations to the two who made it today!

Assaulted by taxi drivers in Bahrain

The restaurant was several kilometers away from our hotel and so we hailed a taxi. There were seven of us but the taxi could only take 4 at a time. Therefore we needed 2 taxis.
The first taxi driver took offence to what one of colleagues said to him. It was a misunderstanding as the driver could not understand what was said. He got out of his taxi and punched that colleague of ours. Mayhem broke out as other taxi drivers joined in and beat up our colleague.
Seeing injustice done to our colleague, the 4 of us (2 others ran back to the hotel) resisted the taxi drivers. They were about 30 to 40 years old and we were much younger, around 25 to 29. Most of the drivers were taller than us and were suspected to be drinking. We were outnumbered 3 to 1 but among us were Frank a very good street fighter and a Karate expert Lawrence. To cut the story short, Albert was beaten up quite badly and had a deep cut on his head. The matter was reported to the police and some of the drivers were arrested.
Albert flew home as a passenger and the rest of us as operating crew. This incident happened some 48 years ago.

I did not let passengers abused me or my crew let alone assault us

When I was a cabin crew I had encountered passengers who threatened and tried to abuse us. I still remember one passenger flying from Singapore to Bangkok verbally abused my stewardess. I was a leading steward then and this was in 1970. I confronted him and he was aggressive towards me. I told him to meet me at the hotel I was staying so we could "settle" the issue. I was a young fellow then, around 24 years and was fearless. That coward did not turn up at the hotel that night. If he did he would be real sorry. I could have taught him a lesson that he will never forget. There are other incidences like this and if I have the time, I will go into them.

Bomb threat and assaulted crew

SINGAPORE: On Wednesday (Sep 28), the Singapore Police Force (SPF) was informed of a bomb threat on board Singapore Airlines flight SQ33, travelling from San Francisco to Singapore.

A passenger was reported to have assaulted a cabin crew member, claiming he had a bomb in his carry-on bag. Continue reading here

This idiot does not know what he is going to face for committing such a stupid act! This is Singapore and unlike other countries he may be sentenced to jail and get at least 3 to 6 strokes of the cane. Besides the bomb hoax, he also assaulted a member of the cabin crew. From my perspective, this is intolerable! As an ex crew I am watching this case closely.
